I've played it when I was younger (about a few years ago) and I use to hear the KH 2.5 HD Remix music, but I don't consider myself much of a fan since I haven't passed the game yet xD though if you hand me either 1.5 HD or 2.5 HD Remix I would play it without hesitation (some months ago I was thinking of doing speed runs of 1.5 HD Remix but didn't got the money to buy it xD)

I really enjoyed the first one but had a harder time getting into the rest. I have most if not all of them (mostly my husband plays them) and have played bits of them but not finished any since the first. We just got the 1.5 remix and I keep meaning to give it a go but man I have such a backlog of games to get through. I should really give one of them a serious attempt - which is your favorite?

Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix, of course. Generally, the best KH games are the original and those that have numbers next to them.(not including 3D) The non-numbered titles always end up experimenting with something. I know I didn't care much for the HD Remix of Chain of Memories.

Good to know where to start off again. I played a fair amount of chain of memories on my good ol' gameboy advance SP between classes freshman year of college hehe. The card battle mechanic wasn't my favorite though.

I'm a huge kingdom hearts fan. I played all of the games, including the mobile games and Kingdom Hearts x, and the final mix versions when they were still on the PS2. It's one of my favorite series just because it's something completely different that was offered at the time it came out.

I wanted to get into the series, but I can't. I've played through the first one and like it quite a bit, then moved on the chain of memories and hated it, now I'm taking my time in Kingdom Hearts 2... which does some things better and worse compared to the first game. I need more games for my PSP though, so I might look into Birth by Sleep.

I've played Re:Coded and DDD and liked both of them quite a lot. It's funny, I love these games, the world and concept behind them, but I can't stand how convoluted and full of holes the story is. It's like they've taken this amazing core idea and taken it in the completely wrong direction.

That was also a big issue for me, Kingdom Hearts 1 and Chain of Memories did fine with the story. But Kingdom Hearts 2 starts and it's just a complex mess. Sora admittedly makes logical choices throughout the game, but learns virtually nothing important... which is the exact opposite Tron tells him.

To be more clear on my previous post, as a whole I like KH2, but it tried to bite off much more than what it could chew. The combat was miles better than the first game, but the story does not cut it and the fact I have to spend less time in each world that I have to go to multiple times ruins the pacing for me.

I do not like the whole Nobody thing generally. The Heartless were a solid concept. Still are! But now...

You should definitely play the first one. For sure. It's not impossibru, just extremely unfair at times.

Make sure you choose defense up and attack down at the beginning to lower the stress level.

THAT'S where they are at now? It seems like they are just throwing in whatever ideas at random now just to continue this so-called story. If Kingdom Hearts 3 does not live up to everyone's expectations, they should probably reboot the series... OH CRAP

I was a fan, but i tried KH2 in my PS2 and it didn't work lol. But watching other people play made me jealous, so i played KH 358/8 days (sorry i forgot), and i like the way Roxas looked. And i played KH BBS, which i realized that Roxas was so similar to Ventus lol. Once i played KH 358/8 days, it was the Japanese version. So i searched the english version and found out that they have an English version lol, and i got bored of my DSI and my PSP and started using PS2, DS, and PSP emulators lol.. That's my story.

......Bloody Square Enix. I seriously do not care about Xemnas/Xehanort/Xehanort Heartless. They need to just re-direct their attention to The Heartless. Seriously. They're using the Heartless as a mere plot device, instead of the main enemy.

I was a HUGE fan of Kingdom Hearts (the first one) way back when it first came out. It was my favourite game for a while, and it was also one of my first RPGs. I remember eagerly awaiting the second one, and all the theories about who Roxas was (who was going under the name Blond Hair Kid or BHK on forums). When KH2 finally came out, I bought it on release day, played the heck out of it... but only ever played through it once (while I must have played through the first one like 5 times).

KH2 was a good game, but for me, it was a step back from KH1 for several reasons:

• There was hardly any exploration compared to KH1's worlds.
• Party members did negligible damage compared to KH1's party members.
• Bosses can only be defeated by finishers (WTF, I HATED this mechanic. When a Keyblade that REDUCES your max combo turns out to be the best keyblade choice against Sephiroth, you have to question things)
• I hate features in any game where you FUSE with team mates. No. I actually really enjoy seeing my party members do useful things all on their own, and merging with them is a feature I will avoid as much as possible.
• In terms of Story, I liked the idea of there being 13 villains as part of an organization, but they hardly interacted with each other throughout the game, and you defeat them all in the course of one game. It felt extremely underwhelming. I feel like they could have done so much more with these characters.
• I personally did not like KH2's MP system as much as KH1's system, although since it's been years since I played either game, I could not properly explain KH2's MP system at this moment.
• No more Billy Zane for Ansem and no more David Boreanaz for Squall.  I love Richard Epcar as Ziggy in Xenosaga, but he just sounded so dull as Ansem / Xehanort.

There might be more points that I'm missing, but I played through KH2 once, and it was pretty much within a week of its release so I don't have the sharpest memories of the game. One thing that KH2 did have that trumped KH1 was its awesome arena fight against Cloud, Squall, Yuffie, and Tifa. Adding Tifa to the fight was really fun.

So... I was still hungry for more KH, really wanting to see what they'd do with KH3, but they just refused to announce the game for several years going forward. Instead, we were thrown all these side-games on varying systems, (I hope, aside from having a PS2, that you also have a GBA, DS, a 3DS, and a PSP if you wish to play them all...). I tried and couldn't finish 358/2 Days. It was just sooooo boring to play. I hardly ever quit playing games part way through but this game just really didn't grab my attention in any way, shape, or form. I did not have a PSP, and therefore could never try Birth by Sleep. Thankfully, I have the KH2.5 HD Remix, and so I will finally be able to try that one out.

KH3's announcement was thrilling for me, but they've released almost no additional information on the game since then. This game should have come out at least five years ago, in my opinion.

A friend and I have had some heated discussions on the possibilities of KH3 worlds. I think the likelihood of an Avengers world is somewhat low, despite the popularity of the movie and that whole franchise. (I do, however, think it would be damn cool if done right: Heartless pouring through the portal in the sky over NY, Loki taking over for Maleficent, maybe teaming with Cap or Iron Man when the other Avengers have been turned into Heartless...) There just seems to be too many logistical issues in including the Avengers, it seems unlikely.

A Star Wars world is more likely, I think, as it already fits in well with the KH mythos. And I'd love to see a Robin Hood or Gargoyles world.

Though I wouldn't care for it, Tetsuya Nomura keeps randomly blurting out that he like the movie Frozen in interviews then claims it's not a confirmation.

Yeah, the 5th most grossing movie of all time that the lead producer really likes, I think we'll see it.

Anyways, Avengers would be cool, I also hope for Starwars and maybe something Pixar.

As for Square's side, I really hope to see Bravely Default characters make an appearance, I think they would strangely fit. Older SNES FF characters would be much more welcomed than Lightning as well. Finally, though it won't happen, Square owns Taito Co. and Zun works for Taito... Touhou please? (Just me dreaming)
