LOLDidn't you hear? The voting deadline was extended until next February.

Absolutely.Never heard of it! Is that the most voted by the public game?
Yeah, because of great "PR" management. I would've liked to see a game that's popular within the RM community win the prize. :/ Like Sunken Spire or Earth Under Attack. I actually thought the latter was going to win that prize, because it had such a large topic here. No offense to the devs of AH, though. I just would've liked to see the prize go to someone who doesn't have a huge established fanbase. :3 But then again the three runner-ups in People's Choice have a suspiciously high vote count vs the Facebook likes so AH deserves it the most from them. Not saying they're cheaters, but AH seems to be genuinely popular as opposed to, say, Helmut.Never heard of it! Is that the most voted by the public game?
It's curious to see a graphic novel win. Although I can't say too much about the game as I haven't played it yet, only seen Indrah's rundown of it. It did look very nice though, so kudos to them.Yeah, because of great "PR" management. Actually I thought EUA got numerous votes due to the game was very buzzing before actual contest commenced. But nope. Mostly 3,000 people watched the thread, but nope again. lol.Like Sunken Spire or Earth Under Attack. I actually thought the latter was going to win that prize, because it had such a large topic here. That reminds me, does anyone remember that Danruah: World of Magic (or whatever it was called) game that garnered like 300 votes in the first two days? I wonder what happened to that one.
I'll write in more detail about it at a later date, but a big part of Ars Harmonia's success in the voting is that we designed the game specifically to do well in the voting. Normally, I'm a writer/programmer on the team, but we intentionally chose to go with an easy-to-program gameplay paradigm so that I could spend the majority of the month on producing and touching up graphics, so we had two people working on graphics. It's curious to see a graphic novel win. Thats actually quite alot to want...I'm just hoping I place. That's all I want in life right now... placement...![]()
All I want from you is another Perspective game. That game mechanic killed me. I love it so much. <3 It's very different from the usual standard graphic novels.I'm just hoping I place. That's all I want in life right now... placement...![]()
Yeah, feedback is good too. It would just be really cool if I did place. Not getting my hopes up though.Thats actually quite alot to want...
Personaly, all I want is a little feedback from the judges on things they liked and things they think could be improved![]()
I'm working on Act 1's revision right now with my tester, and I'm working on Act 2 right now. Patience ;PAll I want from you is another Perspective game. That game mechanic killed me. I love it so much. <3 It's very different from the usual graphic novels. Like, it's so good, it should get polished and turned into a commercial game.
Isnt there a thread dedicated to it?Alright ! You wouldn't happen to have a news letter subscription so I get notified on any updates, would you? :')
Same here. If I were one of the top 100 games, I'd be truly amazed, because so many people with far more skill and experience than me did great jobs for this contest. I think, for a first ever game, I did a great job, but that's not saying much when compared to what others have done.Thats actually quite alot to want...

Oooh, what's your link to rpgmaker.net? Sorry I can't be arsed to Google for it. XDWell I have a gamepage, along with plenty other IGMC contest entries, on Rpgmaker.net. You can subscribe and get notices from that I suppose. I'd look into a newsletter if I had more people wanting updates XD
I agree completely, Dekita, as I said before. I have confidence in my game but there are so many good ones I can't just expect it to place. So I won't get my hopes up. I'll be working on this game regardless of winning, feedback will help nonetheless.Yeah, feedback is good too. It would just be really cool if I did place. Not getting my hopes up though.

That was very smart of you guys, good job. I sort of did the same... however, I had not finished polishing my game until the 30rd.I'll write in more detail about it at a later date, but a big part of Ars Harmonia's success in the voting is that we designed the game specifically to do well in the voting. Why? Because we predicted that due to the number of submissions, most people would not bother to actually play most entries and so they would base their voting entirely upon how pretty the screenshots were. So making it look as good as possible in screenshots was our top priority in order to garner as much attention as possible. Fortunately (for us), that prediction turned out to be true.
The other key thing we did that set us apart from the other entries is that we intentionally did not start promoting or talking about the game until several days into the voting period. We predicted that most people would be so excited and set on the prize that they would blow through all their PR energy and resources right off the bat, creating a huge amount of PR everywhere around the contest that would make it impossible to stand out. So we planned to wait until a few days in when all that had settled down, that way we wouldn't be competing with anyone when we were promoting ourselves.
It's a weird little niche game and I've wanted to make something like it for a long time but haven't had the excuse to. We primarily make commercial games now and Ars Harmonia is a really niche and hard-to-market kind of game, so I'm really happy that I finally had the chance to make it. Whether it wins anything or not, it was a lot of fun to make and I'm glad I had the chance to work on it!
