Any way to bind keyboard keys to gamepad buttons?

I use a speedup script. On the keyboard it uses "L" to cycle through different speeds. Is there a way to assign "L" to a button on gamepads so gamepad users have access to the speed toggle as well?

Thanks!

I don't think you could do that in game yourself, the player would have to map their own gamepad to said key. What you can do is assign a gamepad button to call your speedup script using one of the plugins above..

The MV version at the link destination is old, so please use the MZ version.
(Version 5.9)
Although it is for MZ, it is made to work with MV.
After opening, open the plugin parameter called extendsMapper and edit it.

I can't find any 5.9 version. In that thread it only links to Github, which seems to only have 5.4 for MV.

if you're just trying to map a designated keyboard key to one of the buttons on your gamepad (regardless the gamepad), you don't need to use plugins for that, you can just go grab a copy of joy2key and setup such mapping there.

If you think the debug speed boost is something that you'll want in your deployed game, THEN you'll probably wanna look into a plugin (which wouldn't be complicated).

Yeh, I can do it on my end with Input Mapper as well, but I do want this for a deployed game.

I made a mistake in the version of the plugin.
There was ver5.4 on github.
Functionally, it is almost the same as ver5.9, so please put it in the side game and test it.
Also, 5.4 can be used in MV.

Okay, so I have the plugin installed.

Do players have to actually go in and change the settings to WASD control themselves? Or can I set this plugin up so it's WASD by default?

There is a button to enter the WASD settings, is there any problem with that?
It is technically possible to include WASD move in the default settings.

For a long time I always consider XP soundtracks as the best one.
Just listened to some of MZ tracks from the free version.
It's... Quite mindblowing. xD
Only listened to the battles, towns, and fields.
But I'm sure the rest are equally good. :D
What do you guys want to see for the new Jump into Javascript? A continuation of the rpg_objects, or would you prefer a "lesson 0" where I go back to the absolute basics of Javascript and cover the fundamentals of the language and its construction?
