Anyone listen to Metal?

It's practically a requirement to enjoy Shin Megami Tensei and Guilty Gear.

I have been listening to Sepultura, Metallica (Favorite song is The call of Cthulu), Sabbath of course, Iced Earth, Iron Maiden, Therion, Blind Guardian and many more.

But since I love psychedelic rock (Pink floyd is my favorite band) I have a trend to bands like Tool, Rush, Paradise Lost etc etc...

The last 5 years I listen to stoner rock, doom, drone and sludge.

A great group I admire is Monkey3, I recommend you to listen to the song Black Maiden to get an idea. I just LOVE this song.

Aww yes, a topic about Metal and music!!     

I listen mostly to Symphonic and Progressive stuff. Favourite bands include Epica, Nightwish, Opeth, Draconian, Nightwish, Tristania and Katatonia. I also listen a lot to Pink Floyd, very influential in me since very young age. I also compose metal songs as well

It's sort of a description of a battle between freedom and righteousness against oppression and corruption. Symphonic Metal style (think of Epica in this case)

I listen to almost everything, but my favorite genre is for sure Metal, I listen a lot to Metallica, but my favorite band is Avenged Sevenfold (Heey, heey, before you say AX7 isn't metal, they DO have some metal songs, specialy lately, for they have changed their style through the time. Some examples: Hail to the King, Requiem) and my favorite song of all times, is for sure Save Me, from AX7. I guess it's sort of progressive metal, though i'm not pretty sure about it. I just know it's ****in' awesome.

Out of that, i have song from random bands, i do not hear some band like all the time, i'm always changing (somedays i just listen to ax7 tho, or metallica xD but rarely) from Dio, to Motorjesus, Testament, etc. I can't say i really know those bands (Well, Dio isn't a band, but still), i'm not a poser xD but yes i have listened to some song of theirs. Specially Motorjesus, i really like them.

Not knowing the bands doesn't mean you're a poser my friend   Just means you don't know the band 

I find this mentality a real problem actually    

Why the hell should someone have to know the whole life and names of all the members and roadcrew and whatever of a band he/she listens?

Since when do we have to prove someone how much we like this or that band? I actually know a lot from the bands I listen, I follow their artists on facebook and I actually talk to some of them (Ad Sluijter from Epica as an example), but I do not consider myself superior to other fans who don't. Each person has it's interests, some find interesting to know the band itself, some don't and everyone should respect that and not call those person's "posers" because of it.

I defend: Listen to what you like, the way you like it and be happy about it! Who cares about opinions anyway?
