I was thinking about maybe purchasing the tyler warren bundle that just got remastered for MV but i wasn't sure if i should or not. the graphics look good but i was curious if it would clash with the ones the creator came with which i'm using.

I mean does anyone else think these sprites are good? Would it be worth putting into a game i intend to sell? Looking for over all opinions i guess on if the graphics are widely acceptable.

I have some of the old tyler warren stuff he put out for VX ace i got his 1st and 2nd 50's pack and was looking at them side by side of the graphics i was using but i'm still on the fence. What do you guys think?

I'm not using them, but I like all of Tyler Warren's stuff.  They don't match default graphics, but he's made quite a few battlers and I don't think he ever intends to stop making them.  I bought them in a bundle so I don't have a way to get the update, what's the difference between the original and the updated version?  If it's a size thing, you could do a rough upscale of your own and use them as placeholders until the other packs are updated too.

I am using them as busts and as illustrations for NPCs in story telling parts in my game. For me they are very valuable and in any case worthy to be used in a commercial game and I also will keep buying his packs, but I am not using them as battlers. I was even thinking about creating matching sprites to use them as side view battlers and on the map to don't have to waste his graphics for that.

The latest updates, made the battlers ready to be used as SV battlers in MV. But there are also a few monsters that weren't included before. The bundle also has 12 hand drawn swords from Tyler included, so that is a little something that you can scale and add to your weapon/icons bitmap. But other than that I am very sure that your single packs also got updated.

If I were to give an answer... then no, I don't use them. Though I do respect him for making assets that can be used in a unique situation. I don't have the ability to replicate the MV style either, so him giving out a style that is also different makes me feel like I'm not alone in the prospect. Then again Aekashics' art isn't the same MV style either sooooo....

I bought the old VX Ace one in order to see how he draws his battlers and I can say that he is incredibly talented at what he does and he is really good at what he's doing. But in terms of how you're going to use the battlers in-game. Personally, probably unless someone made a battle background that fits along with either the SV actors using Tyler's style. Although that would take an significantly large amount of work to be done.

I've gotten feedback from folks who love my battlers and from those who don't; and I'm totally cool either way.  I'm never offended to learn that someone isn't a fan, but I put as much quality in them as I can.  My intent is to offer enough battlers, that you wouldn't have to mix and match with other style battlers, but could make an entire game using just my style (hence the RTP re-design...which I still need to get part 2 done), so I'll keep chasing that dream.  Sharm is right in, I don't intent to stop making them (time permitting).

I think they look sharpest against a black background (think battles in the original Dragon Quest on Nintendo).  But, I would LOVE to create a battlebacks pack to go with them, as well as character sheets, actors, sprites, animated variants, etc, etc.  And if time ever allows, maybe I'll get there  :)

As far as the updates go, they were a HUGE amount of work, most of which will likely go unnoticed except by me (one of those artist things).  I took each battler and started from scratch to remaster it, both for quality and to match up with the larger MV graphics size.  I also included a full-size version of each battler (massive size, perfect for editing and use in different ways).

I'm always open to input, requests, advice, criticism, comments, etc.

Yeah, Tyler Warren's battlers are... different.
I have some of them; not bad, but the aesthetic does clash with my usual fare.
Then again, I might find them useful for encounters in dreamscapes, where everything's just a little bit different.
Or I could start on a very different project where they might fit in, but without a complete RPT re-design to fit the battlers, I'm probably not going to use them much. Kind of a pity...

Wow thanks for all the feed back, even from the man himself! Yeah, if i could get enough battlers to do it all in one style that would fix many of my issues. Battle backs would be a huge plus also. The things i was looking for was having a huge variety to choose from, and the battle packs definitely have that. I am still considering the packs just i don't know if they will work out right now, as i was wanting a more serious look to the game.

Don't forget, aspiring writers: Personality isn't what your characters do, it is WHY they do it.
Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
