The blasted system folder works radically different then the other folders, basically the last file you import with X file name takes priority, now this is ok for windowskins, and such, but I have access to all these extra cool icons I got from various resource packs, and frankly the more icons you have access to, the better(variety in games is a "good" thing), so I was wondering, is there a way to get multiple icon sheets to be accessible?

Export the default Iconset; use GIMP or similar to add as many rows as you like lengthways - but do not alter the width.  Add all the extra icons you wish and import it back, keeping the same name so that it overwrites the default set.  You don't need multiple icon sets, just making this one the size you want will do it.

Are you saying unlike tilesets, there's no real limit to the length then?

I don't think that there is a limit, but the more icons you have the slower the editor will be in loading them. My current Iconset has around 1100 but I've seen sets boasting of 10000+ before. You just need to use a grid or something to make sure that the new ones are lined up correctly, and like Ksjp17 said, don't alter the width.

You also need to watch out for file size bloat.  Go for the max of everything and you'll end up with a monster download that a lot of players won't touch because they don't have good download speeds or have various limits on how much they can download.

Ok cool

Thanks both of you.

To ksjp: lol yea of course(Although my game is gonna require a monster DL nomatter what I do, since the game is gonna be legitimately huge, but it doesn't hurt to save space where I can, so I'll keep that in mind)

The size is not an issue when you're playing the game. 10k icons is fine since the file is loaded one and cached in memory.

The problem is when you're developing: everytime you open one of the database tables it will lag because it reloads the thing.

The limit would be the limit of what your image editing program sets... I tried maximizing the iconset in PS and it caps at around 35000 pixels... but then it was more than 100MB I think at that point

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
