RPG Maker Forums

Since it seems to be the day to say belated Hellos, I figured I'd add mine.

I've always loved playing story-driven RPGs, starting with Final Fantasy IV on the SNES, and have always been passionate about computers, since I was a kid.  So, when I saw a program called RPG Maker, I was quite excited, since I've always wanted to create one, but lack the artistic ability to draw or, say, make music (even though I have a good ear, making music is much trickier than hearing it).

Currently, I've started one game, but will probably trash it (there was no coherent story in it, just a lot of nifty ideas), but plan this time to create an interesting story and build the game around it.

I also love to write stories (well, once a year at the Nanowrimo challenge at least) and also love cats (except when they sit on my computer keyboard), reading (sci-fi and fantasy), and am 42 years old.

Fortunately, I've avoided a mid-life crisis and have no burning desire to buy a Porsche or even buy driving gloves. :)

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
