Hello!

I am trying to figure out if it is possible to have a status appear on the player that last for X amount of time.

What I am trying to do is that when you stay at an INN you get a well rested bonus that increases your EXP gain for a short period. Is this possible?

Yes. Under the states tab set the state you want to last for a while to remove after x turns, and do not check remove on battle end.

Assuming you're using VX Ace.

You can make it last a certain number of Steps (or exactly one battle) using the standard Removal Conditions for the State.  If you want it to last a number of minutes or seconds instead, you would need a script.

Also, please use the appropriate Maker's "Help" subforum for these kinds of questions in the future; the Game Mechanics subforum is for discussing design decisions (etc.) whereas the Help subforums are for "how to" kinds of questions.  It can be confusing sometimes :)

Ahh steps seem better!

Thank you both for the answers :) Gives me some good stuff to think on.

Also I thought I did post in the VXAce help forum. I was browsing the game mechanics earlier must have used the wrong tab. Will get it moved.

I have created a field buff spell (usable only on map scene only) that lasts for amount of time by using common event and Tsukihime's script. It works really well. One turn equals to 20 steps is also effective way to do as well if you don't want to bother with scripting.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
