The wall jump physics are annoying as hell, beyond that awesome script.

Bump. Hello everyone! I literally JUST bought RPG Maker VX ACE, and I can't seem to figure out how to install this script. I got the demo game files and stuff, but in the instructions it says move the script. From where though? I can't seem to find it. It's really annoying how crap I am at everything.giphy.gif

All custom scripts should be in the script editor below the heading "Materials" and above the slot for "Main".


You need to open the demo in the editor, then open the script editor, then scroll down to "Materials" and first copy all parts you need into text files, and then later copy them into the same position on your own project.


Don't forget to read the instructions inside those script files on how to configure and how to use them. Any script doing massive modifications to the base engine usually needs configuration and can't be just copied...

Or open two instances of RPG Maker (not sure if you can do this on the steam version), then on one, open the demo, on the other open your project. Open both of their script editors and copy paste directly from the demo into your project

Okay as for the stepping animation, I kinda found out a way how to do it. There are 2 ways to do this.

1. Via Script, although what it does is just a breathing animation in which the character just breaths in and out.

2. Via eventing (not the stepping animation)

Number 1, you can find and download Soulpour777's SEA - Breathing animation script which requires a core script to work.

Now for number 2, you have to create a custom movement for the event.

There are a lot of things in there, Turn up, down, left, right, Move up, down, left, right

This depends on what character set you have(their position in the sheet).

And then set an interval of 7 frames between them.

This two are the only solution I found, looking for more perhaps...

@ZEkA10000 Have you started a new game or did you load a saved file before the error? Most NIL-errors are caused by incompatible savefiles, you're required to start a new game after entering a script like this one.


If that is not the case, we'll need the full error sequence from a backtracer script - please follow the link "how to use a script" in my signature, it explains the use of the backtracer as well as other possible causes for the error.

I start new game and load save before the error in test mode.

That's not starting a new game. We mean you have to go to game (in test mode or not), and hit new game. Don't load a save game at all. Any save game from before you install the script will not work.

I save game process after install this script (for testing locations)

Sorry, won't work. You have to use new game. Nothing else will work, regardless of the reason. Loading a save game after installing a script is like trying to replace the car engine while driving 80 mph. It just can't be done (in most cases).

That means you never set up the script. The script by default is only set up for actor 1. You have to either use only actor 1, or go into the settings and set it up so there is a jump sound set up for the other actors that you wish to use.

Hello. This kind of info is urgent for a project I'm working on.
Is it possible to get a Conditional Branch based Script that switches on when the player is in the air that works with this System?

Hi, folks.
I've finally managed to change A-Key (default for jumping) to Action key, as I don't want to use A-Key. As for now, however, I have trouble setting up Events like NPCs.

1) Event trigger with UP-Key: Doesn't work
I want NPCs (and doors) to be triggered with directional key UP. (They should be "Below Hero".) I tried to make that happen, but I keep encountering weird bugs, such as:

- The player doesn't stop while the event is triggered. While the event message pop up, the player character keeps moving straight forward until he falls of the platform and dies.
- Inserting a [stop_player] comment slows down the player character permanently as long as he passes by.
- I need to press both Action Key AND directional key UP to trigger the event.

Anyone able to help me? I tried it for two days now but for now I wasn't able to solve this issue.

2) Event trigger with Touch Activation: Doesn't work
It seems like it's impossible to make that happen... so I tried to find a solution using Touch Event, which looks like this. But it doesn't work either...

This leads to even more weird bugs:

- messages are triggered endlessly if I jump on the event's head.
- event is triggered when I jump in front of the event.


It would be fine for me if any of these two would work...

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
