I use JetBrains Webstorm and WAMP for all my web-development work. It's a great set-up, and Webstorm has very useful debugging tools built-in and easy to use Git tools to make it easy to collaborate.

I have been given approval to do so, but I have some things I need to do before I'm allowed to officially post it. I'll work on them after dinner ^-^
That's awesome o__O!!

Sad to say, it's about 11:20PM here and I've been a bit distracted, so it probably won't be out until mid-day to early evening my time tomorrow :/

I'm using Atom for the editor - I can just right-click on the js folder and say Open in Atom, and it will open the whole folder and give me access to all the default scripts and all the plugins. It lets me split the screen so I can have the script I'm working on in one side, and one or more reference scripts in the other - something that was not possible in the Ace editor.

For some reason, I can't get the developer tools running on my machine - it won't connect to the game, so while I can get the window, I can't get any console output or see any code or add any breakpoints. Thankfully, one of the members here helped me sort it out so I could at least play in a browser and use the developer tools. Prior to that I was resorting to window.alert - which was incredibly painful and much worse than Ace's console.

The help file (F1) has a section in the Documentation area on getting your localhost up and running, which lets you debug in a browser window.

I also really like that this is the first version of RPG Maker that allows you to continue working in the editor while you're test playing (via the test play button, not just in the browser).

My whole set up is a bit weird. I am looking into better approaches. I write all my code in atom, using es6 and modules, compile it down and copy the resulting script over to the plugins directory and run the game via Command + R.

I use Aptana studio 3 for programming (wonders am I the only one who uses this). And until Shaz mentioned using split screen I never thought of it. :p Found out I could do it in Aptana though. :D

I'm also using Atom (https://atom.io/) with a few plugins installed for doing linting on ES6 syntax. Of course, there's the matter of building up an .eslintrc file to control the warnings/errors that your file will show.

It is also worth mentioning that, while you can see the developer console from the browser by hitting F12. It seems to be possible to bring the same console up if you're running a stand-alone client launched by the RPG Maker MV editor in Windows by hitting F8.

I'm using Visual Studio for developing. Currently it's setup to create a Windows Phone 8 app, which doesn't support Web Audio, so I have disabled that. On the bright side debugging functionality works as you'd expect in Visual Studio.

For testing I use Firefox. I only use Firefox for working on the localhost, that way I do not have to enable localhost .json files in Chrome. The debugging tools in Firefox are quite nice as well.

*hugs*

I'm sticking with Notepad++ for javascript since SublimeText2 keeps asking me to purchase every few saves. It gets annoying. I don't wanna buy it (yet).

Photoshop for any art. RMMV editor for Eventing. I'm still getting a refresher on the whole development environment so i dont test on the browsers yet.

Also @DarknessFalls, why do you keep mentioning "compiling" and "ES6"? Do you mean compiled "higher level" javascript like Coffeescript? Why not just code in normal vanilla Javascript?
