I'm wondering which kind of art will work best for my game. I have created two characters: Rano and Sela. The links are below. All of the art styles are actually filters from one website; I just can't decide which one I like best! Please pick two choices: your favorite style for Rano, and your favorite style for Sela. (there are not as many options for Sela yet.) Sketch is just something so you can see the original art; I wouldn't choose it for in-game art. Most likely whatever filter I use for Sela will be used for all humans in the story and whatever I use for Rano will be for all shadows (see story spoiler below.) Rano's features are not well-defined and his eyes are white/bluish, like all shadows. All shadows have a mark on the forehead for their names to differentiate them, since their features are so similar. Sela is a normal human. She is from India originally. I will not be using these filters in the game; they are more to help me decide what style I want to use when I start doing the art digitally (since the website I used does not allow anything but personal use.)

The game is based off of a story I wrote many years ago called Four Shadow Hearts. It is a futuristic, dystopian science fiction story. The basic story is about the Shadows and the Humans. The Shadows are named for their appearance and the energy they utilize in weapons (an invisible energy they call Shadow energy) and live below in the place called the Shadowlands. The humans live on the surface. The two groups hate each other with a passion and often seek to destroy each other. In the Shadow world, talking to a human is punishable by Kararost, the unspeakable form of execution that is performed only on the worst criminals. Into this insane world comes a young, cynical thief named Rano who is said to be destined for banishment or Kararost. He soon is banished from his world and cast out to the surface where he must fight every day to survive. It is there that he meets Wade and Sela, two naive and kind humans who have what he considers a foolish hope of uniting the two groups with the help of the legendary man called the Truth Speaker. Before Rano knows it, he is chasing a legend called the Uniter of Worlds and fighting to unite the people who have rejected him. Unfortunately, his worst enemy, Proveo, is working against him with all his might...and one of the keys to the Uniter of Worlds is in the Shadowlands, which mean death for Rano if he returns to them. (contains religious/philosophical elements)
