I promise I'll finish ;~; Since yes, that's another one I really like and would love to get all... cohesive and done-looking. I haven't even gotten the lineart done, sheesh! It is meant to look something like a card, though uh when I was drawing it I was thinking of those saint-based candles they sell at the stores. These things.

The talent thing reminded me to go diving through my PB account a bit, too. There is a lot of stuff in there by now OTL

This is quite old; he doesn't even have those wings anymore

Also old! I might redraw this sometime and actually...you know, finish.

Ceferino (JALEN, everyone associates this dude with Jalen and it is all her fault) and Masada (and a lot of people associate me with Masada OTL I'm sorry Kikiyama)

Ookie Panda! Boy this sure had some ugly stages.

All the faffing about aside (and there is plenty more faffing, I just peeked back to page 13ish out of 44 OTL) I figured I would post up even ancient art, too.

This is an interesting bit of tracking improvement!

I drew him last year, too, and he grew a beard. It only took 5 years.

I have no clue how old this is.

I apparently thought it was a good idea to draw it twice. Someone gag me before I vomit.

Seriously the fact that at one point in my life I drew kawaii ~soraxriku~ art makes me do this.

Ah-hahaha, at the risk of envelope pushing I also found a really nice severed head I was so proud of at the time. (and also much more recent than the previous two pics!)

Though it was a case where the lines came out better! Also the amount of eyelashes indicates 2010 for art time.
Oh and point of all the old art sharing, aside from JUST BECAUSE: some of these are just terrible. I've improved a lot, however! So if you feel like your art sucks or that you'll never get better, keep at it. <3 As long as you keep drawing and learning, you'll definitely improve.

Okay one last old thing.

Because old habits die hard.

Oh my god the SoRiku pic(s?) never gets old OTL

seriously I know this is terrible but every time I see it I LAUGH AND LAUGH AND LAUGH OTL

(but this is okay, because we had a good yok over the "I CHOSE BLUE BECAUSE BLUE REPRESENTS SADNESS AND THIS IS A SAD PICTURE" pic that I drew that one time, right?

...I should post up old art too. Along with the descriptions. x3c)

Also WOAAAAH OLD ARSA AND HUGO DB

Man, I remember seeing this before I knew who Arsa was. OTL Now that I do, IT'S SO WEIRD XD

...and the severed head pic is always great, man

always great <3

That was awesome to see, Penta. It's like seeing embarrassing old family pictures. Ah, the nostalgia! :D

I think my own progress is difficult to see because it's so gradual. I also have a horrible tendency of needing to finish every piece in one sitting. And great art takes time ... That and I'm my own toughest critic. Always room to improve!

And Emmy ... Do it! I so want to see old art!!!

@Kread: I seem to be a fan of troll faces.

@Lunarea: Nostalgia is certainly one thing to call it, ah-ha! Really if there's anything to take away from this thread, it's that I am a much better artist after a lot of practice, but have a huge issue of STARTING 20 THINGS AND FINISHING 5. Such is life! (I guess you could also take

away other things too OTL)

I did about...one week of dedicated speed painting practice, ironically enough the first two were the best and I steadily got sloppier as the week went on.

The idea being to see how much one could do in about 30 minutes!

And then more

clouds

and

sunsets

And I decided to stop messing with this about 5 minutes ago, for now. Sometimes I draw fanart of things! Very rarely.

@Emmych:IT'S SILENT HILL DOWNPOUR BUT I ALREADY TALK TO YOU so general stating for anyone curious.

@Hirei: Thanks! I certainly cherry-picked the better ones out of the batch to show off, ah-hahaha.

@Luchino-chan: SKIES AND CLOUDS. I COULD PAINT SKIES AND CLOUDS FOR EONS. I've been meaning to diversify my watercolors some more, however!

@Emzie: How flattering! I still have a lot to learn, but I think every artist thinks this. It's not a bad thing to think, that's for sure!

It's ok I'd do the same. And I like how you picked out ones with different coloring styles (the watercolor-y ones)

Do you mind if I add text to this and use it as a game over screen? The game is totally non commercial. It's just for fun. But this actually matches the theme I was going for in my rpg absolutely beyond any doubt perfectly. I'm using the phrase, "Tu Fui Ego Eris" on my GameOver. It's a term used on gravestones. It means, "I was you, you will be me." My main character, Draken Hamebright, is going to be taken over by the main evil of this rpg towards the end. The man in this picture you did matches his description PERFECTLY. And it has just the effect I've been looking to find in a game over screen. Is there any way you'd let me use this for a non commercial project?

All I did was add text to it, and it turned out freakishly awesome! Thankyou so much for letting me use your art! :)

So I have not been around this summer! Where have I been? Well a lot of places, but some of that time has definitely been spent doing NERDY THINGS like gaming. I usually draw while at the table! And when I had moments of computer time, I sometimes drew people's characters then, too! A general blanket apology for all the smudges and smears and whatnot, I was pretty careless when cleaning up my scans, apparently.

First up was some D&D. I made this guy named Manfred.

This page kinda chronicles DESIGN SHENANIGANS. Uh actually since scanning this I finished his pants at least a month ago, but oh well!

He's a pretty terrible cleric. In later adventures he became much bolder and much better, turning his habit of pants wetting into a lethal weapon against the undead, thanks to the Bless Water spell. He ended up with jars of jarote specifically to use as urine grenades.

This is one of those general doodle pages. There was this necromancer in the party, that Elridch fella there, and he and Manfred had hilariously similar designs, completely by accident. Even the scars!

Eventually his family became relevant, so he ended up with this paladin brother, Siegfred.

Who was just generally better than little Manfred when it came to religious matters.

There was also this pirate named Kai in the party, but I had a hard time drawing him since he always looked like this in my head even though he was supposed to be this super pretty bishounen dude.

Eventually, we switched over to give white wolf a shot and did new world of darkness stuff. I played this guy named Louis, who started out as a hunter with a hunter bro named Alex.

THEY WERE A LOT OF FUN AND GOT INTO A LOT OF SHENANIGANS. And ended up becoming vampires due to an unfortunate family incident.

They had a lot of unfortunate incidents.

A lot of unfortunate incidents.

They also developed a terrible problem of blood addiction and it was so kawaii louis almost died a few times.

They also ended up being hunted by this little French dude named LE SOMBRE. He was the reason why Alex had to vomit all that blood into Louis' mouth.

http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z171/PentagonBuddy/****-THE-FUTURE.png

And then they had this incident with time travel (see, it'd been the Victorian era) and thanks to future Alex, Louis discovered what a terrible and sinful place the modern world was. He also discovered donuts and the fact that his hands are abnormally tiny, I guess.

There was also this guy named AMBROSE VALENTINE in the party and by golly, I don't know why I haven't drawn him more. This dude was awesome! Ended up being my favorite character.

Boy, he and Louis got up to some shenanigans. Like that time he tried to escape being gunned down by Alex by accidentally using MAGICAL GHOST **** to make Louis think he was Lou's dead wife, ah-hahahaha... THOSE WERE THE TIMES.

They also met some dude who was like vampire god, I guess? Or Kefka. I never did finish designing the helmet since I got so many conflicting descriptions of it!

And some more stuff.

And Louis in a towel but I'll put that in a spoiler since it contains CLEAVAGE. One of these days I'll finish Alex.

There was also this guy in the party, Judicael...uh I think that's how you spell it OTL His character was pretty much being a beautiful albino douchebag. The end.

Alex also had a lot of issues that caused a lot of problems. The end.

And Louis just looks silly here, he just might be channeling Casanova Frankenstein. The end.

And some more (unrelated) beastly things, a couple of them woefully unfinished ideas.

And some more unrelated people!

And an unrelated page!

WHY DIDN'T THESE TWO HAVE A SUPPORT IN PATH OF RADIANCE. WHY.

And then me drawing some hair I have never attempted to draw before.

And then Mick Jagger. The end.

One thing I really really really love is that you've got all these different body shapes and features that are attractive without always being classically beautiful. Louis is super awesome and I love him to bits.

Please share more! :D

Ah, why thank you! Y'know the funny thing about Louis, specifically, is that he's kind of an old character! (2009, I think?) And his very first incarnation was Richter Belmont. He just happened to look exactly like him and it always weirded Jalen out because at that point in time I hadn't played Symphony of the Night. And then once I played SoTN, the fact Louis was some weird Richter was intolerable to me. By now I think the problem has solved itself. Though I guess one could argue he looks like a slightly overweight, middle-aged Richter. The post-Dracula years, perhaps?

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
