@Grandma Deb - Your new picture looks really good! Makes me want to visit this place. Forgive me, however, if I say the sprite on the right looks like he's taking a bath in grape juice, but at least I can guess what he's doing! )
Let say that the woman sacrifice a child to perform a sort of ritual. She's in some kind of psychotic break. :v
Original Resources :
I'd like to say that almost everything on the map is original. Some are RTP edits, and the character sprites are made by my friend for me. I'm doing some edits to the sprites so that it fits the situation on the map. Some of them are premade assets, so I put only the assets that I made after the contest is announced as original resources.
This is a steampunk/Victorian era mental hospital. Alessa was admitted when she claimed her twin sister was killed bye a demon. Which was true. And now the demon is after her mother and the ghost of her twin sister is visiting her in order to help her escape the night mare that is the mental hospital run bye people experimenting on the patients, and return home to help her mother.
Its a project idea I have so though why not see if I can make a map for this n maybe run with it
The object I made from scratch was a first for me and is an attempt of a steam punk ish chest
Hey all - been a while. Everything in this map except the blood and the chairs at the table (lunarea) is either RTP, Mack, or made/edited (depending on the resource) by me - but i attached the walls (I made these) as my original resource(s).
@Cel - the map is very cool looking. As an actual maker and not just a mapper, I wonder about all the curves once you actually try to walk on it instead of screenie it... Which part of the map is actually walkable?
IOW - you have tons of curves and non-linear stairs and varied cliff edges and so on. My experience is that - to use stairs as an example - the spiral looks fabulous in a screenshot, but then you can't walk a charecter up the stairs because rmvx uses 32x32 cube-grid movement. The stone circle you posted looks very cool, but I have no idea where you would walk or walk out of it, etc. Leaves me with the impression you have a screenshot that would look excellent in a story-telling mode, but weird (or even non-useable) in actual Player-controlled play. Am I totally missing the passable sections, or is it a 100% still-frame 0% function design?
@ Luchi - I really like that. Very retro, but nicely done.
@Leila - very well done parallax. Almost too good for the tiles it's with xD
Jesse - that's a lot of work there. Thanks for posting. Are there two drunk/laying-down people on the patio? It's one of the few things that looks strange to me, but a lot of that is cool.
Finally! I've been puzzling over why it wasn't working for two days now. Turns out all of my calculations were correct, I just forgot to give some events hitboxes. Now my randomly generated maps check for collision errors, and move stuff around in real time if they finds any.
