I don't know if it's sacrilege to talk about other forums, but I'm pounding my desk over this. I'm trying to do ANYTHING over at the RMRK forums, but every time I try to post, send a message, create a new account, etc., I have to fill in a reCAPTCHA. Shouldn't be a problem, except when I submit it, I'm met with this message on a completely blank page:

"For security reasons, you must pass the remote ip to reCAPTCHA"

I've Googled what this means, but only found references to coding for websites. I'm not coding. I'm filling it in. Here is proof that I'm typing it in CORRECTLY, but still this happens:

I also had my roommate try and make an account on her computer, but this still happens. I'm so confused. And irritated.

Help please. I'd rather be eating my sandwich than a bullet.

Yes, actually the forum rules state "no bashing of other forums". And while you may not be "bashing", you are complaining, and it doesn't take much to snowball.

If you have an issue with stuff that happens on RMRK, talk to the admins on RMRK about it. Put up a post over there and see who else is having that much trouble with it. I'm sure they don't WANT to be causing pain for their forum members, so if you talk to them without getting all worked up about it, you might be able to convince them to change it - I'm pretty sure there are settings that make them easier/harder. If you can't contact them because of this issue, find another way to contact them outside of the forum. I'm sure some of the admins / moderators over there are also on this forum, so maybe send them a PM here about the issue.

Maybe you're not meant to put a space in between? I hate those things too.

I tried to contact the mods. I'm getting the same issue. I only came here because I think it's a reCAPTCHA problem more than a problem of the actual website.

Contacting the mods on this website (or another) is a good idea. I'll try that, thank you.

Also, no, not adding a space still leads to the same issue.

Edit: Is there a way to cross-reference mods on both sites without having to painstakingly search for each one?

Edit again: It's definitely a Captcha problem. I bypassed the issue by using my phone instead of my computer. If anyone has any insight into how Captcha works and how to fix this issue, I'd love to hear about it.

Are you using a VPN? I use one frequently and have issues from time to time with them. Also try using your phone as a USB hub or tethered. Perhaps it's your connection you are connecting from with your computer.

Edit: Once I figured out what site you were talking about, I tried with my VPN and everything worked fine for me. Maybe the firewall wherever you are at blocks something.

Weirdly enough once I used my phone to get passed the Captcha, it doesn't reappear. Oh well. Thank you for the suggestion, though, I'll remember it for next time.
