Hi everyone! I am an indie developer from Serbia. I created a few games in Game Maker Studio 2 but I always wanted to make horror, melancholy, and atmospheric games in an old SNES style. Game Maker Studio 2 can do that but it's a lot of work. I found myself thinking more about the code than anything else. Then I found RPG Maker MZ. And since this engine doesn't require almost any coding, it allowed me to focus on more important things in my project. Story and atmosphere. And so, here I am with my first RPG Maker project called "At the dream end".



"At the dream end" is an interactive horror story made in RPG Maker MZ. The gameplay is similar to an old SNES RPG game, but without random encounters (end fight in general). But while there will be no combat in the game, there will be ways for the character to die.

"At the dream end" is a sci-fi story about a young wolf and a scientist involved in terrible biological experiments.

"At the dream end" the first chapter is done! DEMO is coming soon! But until the demo is approved on steam we started working on a new chapter - Chapter 2: Embrace the Angel.

Wolf is all grown up now. But in his body is not his life energy. Due to the clash between the scientist named Ophir and his colleague, now known as the butcher, the scientist had to leave his old body behind and use the wolf's body.

The work on the second chapter is slowly coming to an end, and the work on the third and final chapters begins.

The first chapter revolved around a young wolf who, while searching for his mother, triggered the collapse of one of the largest bio-experiments in the world, while in the second and third chapters, the player will find himself in the role of a scientist who replaced his butchered body with that of an adult wolf. At the same time, one of the scientists who managed to escape the obliteration of all labs, and all experiments in them, is now threatening to destroy the world. A scientist called Butcher.



While the gameplay trailer is slowly getting ready, try out "At the dream end" demo and let us know what you think. We'll use any comments to improve the game as much as we can.

I played the demo, but it's kind of difficult to say much about it, since it lasted less than 10 minutes. It didn't really tell what the story was about and there was no gameplay elements. Anyway, I think the atmosphere was good, maps looked nice and I liked the AI art of the wolves. There was a couple of grammatical errors in the dialogue and the wolf sprite maybe looked a bit out of place on some maps (maybe it was the coloring of the sprite vs the maps). I think your demo needs more content to show more what the game is about and if there's gameplay, show a bit of that too.

We are introducing the Owl Brothers Mini-Boss Fight

We are excited to announce the addition of a new and unique mini-boss fight in our game - the Owl Brothers. Instead of a traditional physical battle, players will engage in a dialog-based confrontation with these powerful owls.

The Owl Brothers will appear at a specific level of the game, and players will need to use their wits and persuasion skills to defeat them. The dialog choices players make will determine the outcome of the battle, and players will need to choose their words carefully in order to come out victorious.

As with any boss fight, the Owl Brothers will be a challenging obstacle for players. Additionally, the Owl Brothers can result in a Game Over screen if players are not successful in the dialog battle. This adds an extra layer of tension and excitement to the game, as players will need to be fully prepared before engaging with them.

We are looking forward to players' reactions to this unique and engaging mini-boss fight and how it will add to the overall gameplay experience.

In addition to the new mini-boss fight, we are also excited to announce that we are currently working on a new gameplay trailer that will showcase the new features of the game. The trailer will be coming soon, so stay tuned!

Hi everyone! In this devlog, we'll be sharing a bit more info about the "At the Dream End" game.

"At the Dream End" is a story-driven, exploration-based game. As such, the game will feature two endings. Depending on the player's choices and actions throughout the game, they will be able to reach one of two endings. This will add a layer of replayability to the game and encourages players to experience the different endings for themselves.

Additionally, we are introducing optional areas in the game that can be accessed if the player can find all of the "Memento Mori" objects. These objects are scattered throughout the game world, and by collecting all of them, the player will unlock hidden areas that will provide a deeper understanding of the story and the world.

We hope that these additions will enhance the player's experience and deepen their connection to the game world. We're working hard to create a game that is both immersive and engaging, and these features are an important step in that direction.

However, we understand that the development process is a two-way street and that it's important to get feedback from players to ensure that the game is on the right track.

The final act of "At the dream end" takes place in the Butcher's Tower. This area is going to be a multi-level tower that players can explore, each floor filled with horror discoveries and tons of lore. As players delve deeper into the tower's secrets, they will learn more about the true nature of the Butcher's experiments. The truth is far more horrific and complicated than anyone could have anticipated.
