I've noticed that all modern versions of RPG Maker only allow attacks to hit a single target or all targets.
However, RPG Maker 1 had an option for attacks to hit a "group" of enemies, where the attack would hurt only all enemies of the same type. Example:

Only the Plain Fairies (the red ones) would be hurt in this case.

Is there any way that would allow me to create a "Group" based attack in VX Ace?

I think you could try... Making a common event (which would then sit in the 'effects' part of the skill. And create somthing like...

Conditional branch > When enemy > (Your choice) is inflicted dmg. = change enemy hp > (Choose an operand 1-8) inflict dmg...

That's just something I'd start messing around with anyhow...

Easier would a solution with specific damage elements.
You would still have to select "all enemies", but some enemies would be immune to the damage element of the attack.

Sorry, there is no directly equivalent to this in the modern Makers. Some Plugins might order that however.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
