I wanted to make an attack that functions like Toontown Online's squirt gags. where it would hit up to 3 targets at once.

say you have four enemies like this - - - -, the attack would only hit 3 or two depending on the target and have damage drop-off, where the adjacent enemies would be dealt less damage, for example, if the second enemy is targeted (marked by the capital X) the other two will also get hit (marked with the lowercase x) like this, xXx-

any way to do this without plugins? or do I need them. sorry for explaining it with the dashes and Xs also, I didn't know any other way to get what I wanted to say across.

You'd need a plugin to accomplish this. The default battle system doesn't have any kind of concept of physical positioning of the battlers.

MV had a plugin that did some of this in Yanfly's Area of Effect. I don't know if any VisuStella plugin has incorporated any of that functionality, and I don't know if you'd think it's worth it to spend money on an MV plugin hoping it would work via Project FOSSIL.

Even with that, you'd have to get into some additional code for what you're talking about with the damage change.
