Android deployment of my game is having issues loading sound files. battle3 is only one of them (as shown in the screenshot)

Not only that, but it only seems to occur randomly - sometimes it won't occur in a battle at all, sometimes it'll occur on an enemy attack, on a player attack, etcetera-point being that the audio file is present and plays sometimes, but eventually fails for whatever reason.

The audio files (along with every other file) are present after doing the android/mobile deployment, and the files are still present and work fine on Windows after converting the deployment to an APK (it's possible to check this by renaming the .apk to .zip and extracting it like a normal zip file)

It's possible that a Yanfly plugin is causing these issues (i'll test a blank sample project later), but I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone has any experience with this.

can you give the full directory path to one of those audio files?
Do you have both OGG and MP4-versions of it available before deploying?
does this happen to default music or to custom music files or both?

Sorry about putting the thread in the wrong place; didn't notice until right after I posted!

Anyway, the directory path is something like "Documents/Black_Spire/audio/SE/...". There shouldn't be any illegal characters in the filenames; I've checked already. I can find the full path if needed, I'm just not on the PC with my project at the moment.

OGG files work on Android deployment? I didn't know, I was only deploying with MP4 since that's what the deployment method uses. I'll try replacing the sound files with their OGG counterparts on my next test-run.

I'm almost exclusively using the default sounds included with MV. The error only occurs on sound effects during or after an attack/ability in battle.; so far I haven't had any issues with BGM, BGS, ME, or SEs outside of battle.

This error is only happening in the mobile deployment; the PC version doesn't have this issue. If it's worth anything, I'm using this Android deployment method by Xilefian, not the tutorial method as it stopped working for me a long time ago.

Thanks for your help!

Please do NOT replace one format - keep both formats like I asked.
There is a reason why I asked that, but I don't have time today (already past midnight here) to explain that.

Additionally: what version are the core files of the project? (I'm not asking about the editor version, but the project's core files - those are updated independently.

*sigh* Nevermind, I solved the problem.

It was an error on my part with Yanfly's action sequences. I had a few that would play sound effects such as "se: wind1" and "se:battle3".

In the files, Wind1 and Battle3 have the first letter capitalized. That's all it was: I needed to capitalize the first letter of the sound effect in the action sequences. Everything works now.

Thanks for helping! Getcha some sleep!

yes, only windows has an override that allows you to ignore capitalization. Everywhere else (including the HTML5-base of the MV-Engine) capitalization matters and Abc.mp4 and abc.mp4 are two different files.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
