If you are working on your game and you are working with original sound effects, or you got some buddies to do some voice acting for you, may I direct your attention to this software as a alternative to audacity.

Nothing against audacity, its a great free software, but it does have its short comings. Its clunky, processing is not in realtime, tends to crash and slightly distort things.

Reaper is a industry standard level Digital Audio Workstation (DAW for short), that is affordable (free for a long time as well), and useful. It is actually used by several AAA game studios.

So what benefits does reaper give you?

For one it loads very quickly, and does not take up much computer resources. It allows you to use what are called plugins to add effects to what ever sounds you have recorded (and even add them as you record. These plugins can change how the sound sounds in real time without going through a loading screen. Effects included with the software are some of the basics. Compressors and Limiters (volume/dynamic processors used to alter the overall volume of a sound), Equalizers (pitch+partial suppression/amplification) to name a few. The software itself is really good for making music as well.

All in all, if you are comfortable with Audacity then feel free to keep using it (it really is a great free software), but if you are willing to learn a new software and be able to do more in the world of audio, then check out reaper.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
