Hi everyone, this is my first post. I need a script that is like this:

http://youtu.be/6uaBHoN6GGo?t=5m28s

So here's what I want:

-Bump into an enemy and a auto quick battle will start.

-(Optional) Have a similar health bar attached to the script like in the example posted above)

So please if you guys can help me get a script like this?

Thanks for being awesome guys.

1) Don't bump unless it's been at least 72 hours

2) Please be patient

3) The reason for number 2, is because we're all busy people here

4) Another reason is because battle systems are ...

Can't watch the vid but if it's like the system in Ys where you bump into an enemy and you begin auto-hitting it, then you could just event that...

Sorry I'm new around here...

It's not exactly like Ys. It's similar but still pretty different.

Battlesystem scripts are the most difficult to make, and take a scripter usually several dozen hours of work.

Because of that, such requests are rarely done - and to get a scripter to write you such a script, you need to do two things:

1) make a good and detailed description that will tell the scripter exactly what is to be done - no scripter wants to waste several hours researching obscure game references and videos to learn what you want. Such a description needs to be here on this forum to help the scripter. And with detailed I mean really detailed including what happens when what button is pressed and how which skills are handled. As an estimate you can use this: if your description is less than several hundred words, then you probably have missed part of the needed details.

2) you need to give the scripter a reason why he should put in those several dozen work hours for your battlesystem instead of making several other (shorter) requests here on the system. Start thinking about what you can do for the scripter in return for all that work, that will increase your chances a lot.

I must have played another game than, because in the Ys I played (played 3 parts), I needed to mash my buttons and co-ordinate each of my attacks, and the positioning, ohh, that could kill me if I were at the wrong place, lol. In short, it was a full time ABS, no auto-hitting anything. o_O

The bump system is from the earlier Ys games like Ys 1-4.

Yea sorry, like I said, I'm totally new to the forums and probably sound like a pushy jerk...Sorry about that.

All I want is a simple(I think) quick battle system where you walk up to an enemy and a random outcome would happen. Please note I don't want this to go to a normal battle, I want it to be outside regular battles. You would either die, lose health, kill the enemy. My game isn't about the battles, it's more of a side thing. So if anyone can make anything similar or can do this, it would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for all the confusion.

@Sixth - never really played the Ys that used it, I just saw it from somebody that posted a request here... After all, the only Ys that I played was 7 and origins... XD

@OP - if it's something like that, then you could just make the enemies as events that activate upon player touch or event touch...

How would I make it random though? I want it so that It'll either be the player that loses HP(or dies) or the enemy dies. Is it possible to make this random using events?

Yes.

I'll give you the basic rundown of it.

First, create a event on the map. (Change the sprite(Graphic on the map) to the enemy.

Then go to variable operation and choose substitute-random.

After that, use conditional branches and check for each of them if it's the number you get from the variable with the random number.

The rest you can probably figure out yourself. Maybe make variables for both the character and the enemy, etc.

Oh I should have thought of that... :p Thanks, that's exactly what I'll do.

I suggest you familiarize yourself first with the event commands, Kuma. :3

PS I want one of those glasses/shades Kuma.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
