In 1793, on this date, the Reign of Terror started as part of the events of the French Revolution. in 1877, the native American tribal leader Crazy Horse died (allegedly, depending wheater he survived the stabbing past midnight). In 1992 something happened that might have affected some of your maker games. Maybe. Possibly. Whatever.
As annual celebration, I release something on this date, and here we go!
I think my biggest disappointment in MV is over the dungeon autotiles and though there are some raw nuggets in there, it takes a lot of edits to make the ground look like I like it. For the walls I gave up editing and drew them completly from scratch.
The waterfall is darkened to look more like an actual lava flow and I added a upper and lower rim, for some softer transitions (lava does not splash like water as far as I know).
I am very happy with the outcome, and though the default B and C tiles do not have massive amounts of variation, I think you can now make very very pretty caves, if you like
The preview maps are maker shots, so completly possible with using the layers.
Hi Avy, I'm using your wonderful soldier sprites in my game, but I noticed they don't have a damaged sprite for when they get knocked out. In my story you have to escape from the guards, but if you beat them in battle, I don't want it to seem like they were killed, just knocked out. Is there any way you can do this?
For downed sprites I have this tutorial, which is pretty easy to follow (seriously, making the four recolors took about as long as actual edits).
Anyways, those were somewhere on my "what I will do one day maybe" list anyways and I think more people might be happy to have it ready to use :3

I actually "just" wanted to make a wraith sprite to match the RTP battler, but the wip was already so close to a death sprite that I took the oppurtunity and made both and gave both of them plenty of variations, depending on where you want to use them^^
I like the idea of having them with and without weapon, so you can have him float unarmed until you trigger him to get battle ready... or show you how to mow grass. Everything is possible.
I hope you all enjoy hiddenone's and my tutorials on the blog, and for those who ready the recent one about MZ water autotile setup and want to make such a map RIGHT NOW or want to try out how that would look before editing the tiles they use, here are my results from the tutorial, plus some other water textures edited in. I kept the same shape, as I like the curves of this set up and that way all fit the waterfall perfectly.
As much as I love dinos, the ones I like most are waaaaay to big to make sprites for them. That would seriously take forever.
There are a few ot there though, though they are mostly very smol

I read that tutorial and the first thing I thought was, "Yeah, I'm like never going to be able to do that." And then here you come a few hours later and you've done it for us. These water tiles are SO much appreciated, Avery.
Another replacement set for the SF tiles, I have to admit that for the stage tile I just shrugged it off as that is something I would solve completely different anyways.
This has been in the making for a long time and a lot of these are either massive edits or stuff that was straight up made from scratch. I had planned to replace the other metal fence like ones and the asian one as well, but they are not too bad and before this stays unreleased for many more months without me changing anything I thought you might rather have it now.

We left last year with one of my favourite resources I made for MZ, this dragon charset here:
And I know how difficult it can be to have a character that has only a charset, if you have a game that uses textboxes. That limits the use of them so much.
So what if you want to consult the dragon or use him as a questgiver or talk to him before he flies your characters to a distant place?
Well, today's treat is a bust and face to make that happen!
And that was not it! A dragon and a kight are things that are made for each other. Are these two enemies? Friends? Or have no relation at all? This guy looks like he could be the commander of my previous soldiers as well.
Just going to use stationary water for the randomized maps. Sure, particles would look cool... But this is about compromising and not spending countless hours making the perfect water particle for each set piece with water.
Maybe I should get rid of the Banish ability in my game. It's a non-elemental spell that doesn't even appear in the magic chart. It's only there because my Elementalist doesn't use light or dark magic. It only effects summoned creatures.
