Day 5

You might have noticed one of the themes that kinda arches over the advent is the What the RTP is missing list. Since I just did random things I felt like doing for the most time, that was not planned, it kinda just happend. And I am really glad it did, since I love the result for the Gnome Bust and Emoset!
Some of the default battlers are meh, but the gnome could be so much more than a random encounter! Look at him! He is so cute! He does not deserve to be just a low level enemy, he should be a mascot or a quest giver!
And with this set, we are one step closer on making that reality!

This gnome is also the first thing of a second overarching theme we will encounter tomorrow again... maybe you can guess what it is?

And as an additon to yesterdays sheet I have some kitchen furniture, trying to keep most of them usable for both modern and fantasy :3

I love the gnome's smile, it's got this mischievous feel to it.

The gnome remains one of my favorite of your advent calendar, Avery. I agree with you 100% that he is too cute to just be an enemy, but even an adorable ally.

Kitchen utensils are so useful, and that knife block is a work of wonder. Thank you.

Day 6 is another special: Today is St Nicholas!

Today I have a real treasure for you to celebrate that event!
Yup, this is the chest from the title screen sporting a chest, so if you want to make that the title of your game, you can now actually encounter this thing in game. And if not, a large ornate chest would make a great end of dungeon or boss fight reward!
!$LargeChestAveryMZ.png

Talking about the theme started with the gnome, here we have it again:
The tree dungeon!
You might remember my old XP tree dungeon, and a tree dungeon was actually on of my first VX Ace resources... and the quality was really bad, so I remade it for VX Ace once I had a little practice, but somehow I had never picked that theme up... until today. Or until a month ago because I had to make all that stuff beforehand of course.
Most of what you see is from scratch, besides the ground tiles. There is not that much decoration, but basically, you can use anything that works for dark forests on the inside, so that is okay. For my test screen I just used some stuff from the outside set.
The roots are a little tricky, but there are also rootless bases in case you wanna spare yourself the steress or make multiple layers, then they are necessary.
Do you guess the 2nd theme now?

Also... if @fizzly was dying yesterday already I might have killed him today... Before he had asked for this set I noticed his like on my 8? year old post with some tree dungeon tiles and I was like "Huh neat. Past me had some nice ideas." and started working on the set.

I had great fun using your VXA tree dungeon tile set. I'm sure this one will work equally as well.

Well, hot damn! The chest was nice enough, but you just had to go and include a freaking tree dungeon too! Love them both to pieces.

Also... if @fizzly was dying yesterday already I might have killed him today... Before he had asked for this set I noticed his like on my 8?

I remember playing an RPG Maker game a few years back that had a tree dungeon like this. You had to remove those vines from the 'tree doors' by solving puzzles in order to progress. I'll bet that game used your tiles. Once again, outstanding work!

Mmm Tempted so bad to get RPG maker 2000 at some point. I want to make an easter egg in my next real project, but also the allure of being a true hipster and developing in the Engine no one uses.
Definitely one of the stranger specimen.

Continuing our countdown with Capsule Monster #11 Vampy! While he might have a lower HP he has the unique ability to drain hp from others to restore his own! For any Yu-Yu-Hakusho fans I based a lot of his design on Rinku!
I'm finally done with my demo for the Cube Trail! All that needs to happen is playtesting of the four main characters for any balance changes that need to be done.
