I left the gaming industry 12 years ago. I used to work for Stratics and EA running most of their development chats for years than had to go when my wife told me those famous two words that told me our first child was on the way and had to make a lot of changes that included handing the reigns to someone else. Didn't have much time to do anything else till my kids grew up a bit and started playing games themselves. Then the day came they discovered my work and wanted to do their own which is what brought me here as I remember there was a program years ago called RPG maker that today has come a long way. I had some unfinished books I was writing and my daughter talked me into putting it into an RPG game instead of book form which I discovered is not an easy task. My favorite shows are Doctor Who and Supernatural, Favorite book Authors David & Leah Eddings (RIP), Piers Anthony,  Terry GoodKind, Margaret Weiss & Tracy Hickman, Sharon Green just to name a few and my favorite game series are the Ultima series though not much of a fan of the last one Ascension. I haven't seen so many people involved on a single project like this in years.

Welcome back (from outer space!). Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth Series is my favorite fantasy series; I also enjoyed Piers Anthony's Kelvin of Rud series. Great to have someone who has some experience in the industry join up. Hope you enjoy getting back into it through rpg maker, you'll find these forums a big community that a lot of the time can feel like a sort of extended family.

See you around.

Wow, thanks for the big hello. Sorry for late response, been extremely busy including this project. It actually was learning of RPG makers existence still that made me decide to release a game instead of a book. I had worked years on a series I kept making changes to but never released. At first years ago had planned wanting to make a game and was working on the story line, then after seeing some really big named computer gaming companies getting butchered in the market, I instead changed my mind and continued working on the book part. I had a few friends from the gaming industry look some of the book over and told me you really need to make an rpg of this. So after talking, I was wracking my brain on what to use, who to bring on, when it hit me to do a search on RPG maker. To my surprise, and great relief, I discovered not only did RPG maker still exist, they vastly improved the system  to do not only games for the pc, but make versions for the phones and more as well? Looking through the forums, I see so many that work together like family, and THAT makes a huge difference when releasing a great game. People who work great together put their all in and the outcome is fantastic. The storyline I have is based on an Irish type setting. I'm in the process of converting the book into what I call an RPG script. Soon as its complete, Ill make a list of what I might need and bring on people accordingly. My aim is to make a game that will be the next Ultima/Final Fantasy. Thanks again for the welcome!

Isn't that everyone's goal? The next Final Fantasy... it is repeated a lot but you seem to have some knowledge of the industry so maybe yours will succeed.

Good luck!

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
