"Back to Felix" is my first game ever and I'm excited to share it with you.
​

All art and music is done by me.

The game is almost finished, right now I'm mainly polishing it and finishing writing the score..

Synopsis:
​

The story takes place in Brighton - England, where the famous Youtuber with the nickname Pewdiepie lives. Felix (is his real name) seems to be living his dream. It almost feels unrealistic: famous, rich, cute girlfriend - and has achieved all that by playing video games and sharing them on Youtube. One day, when his girlfriend Marzia was trying to cook a perfect salmon cupcake while he was cleaning up after her mess, Felix's mother emerged into town. Mom believes that her son has a mental decease and tries to put him into a psychiatric clinic. While Pewdiepie doesn't agree with his mom, he tries to figure out her motives. As the story goes, our protagonist begins to understand that if something is too good to be true - it probably is. He now has to face a life changing decisions and sacrifice everything he holds dear for the sake of the people who love him.


Game features hand-drawn scenes, with the original music score. A lot of attention was put into details - pretty much every object is interactive - even the walls.

Wrapped up in a comedy, this game is a psychological thriller, with a story-driven game-play. Contains brief nudity and adult humor.

Thoughts


As this seems to be a fan game it's important to note i am not a fan of PewDiePie but the presentation and execution of the plot was still interesting.


sadly i was not able to finish the experience which i believe isn't possible with the current version anyway.but i mostly enjoyed this.


keep up the great work.


Random Thoughts


some menu options have no dialog and if you can save in the menu its pointless to have a map save location.
should consider disabling options that might not be necessary. to help with immersion.

I just fixed an issue that caused a game crash, sorry about that guys. New file is available under the same link.


About the menu, you are completely right - it was on my mind to fix it, just haven't gotten to it.

PS: as a side note, I'm not a Pewdiepie's huge fan, I'm only occasionally watch his videos. The reason I did this is because once he held an RPG Maker contest and I'm a sucker for good contests. Although I'm way past the deadline to enter it, right now I'm just enjoying working on this game.

I'm lucky that Shayoko agreed to do the proofreading, she did it super fast and helped a big time.


I already made according corrections to the dialogue and fixed bugs. Link stays the same.


Things that are left to do:


- Add the ending;


- Write 3 more music themes;


-  Add more sound effects;


- Fix the menu;


- Redo intro animation;


- Maybe I'll add some more events;


And that's it! Should be ready in 1 - 2 weeks.

About 3 month ago Pewdiepie held an RPG Maker competition.That inspired me to pick up an RPG maker and learn how to do games. It was supposed to be silly, 15 minutes long thingy, and, well... it got out of hands. I got so excited making it that I all forgot about that contest and way past it's deadline.


Now just trying to make my first game as good as I possibly can :3


Btw it's all ready, I'm just testing it and stuff ^^

I am usually never into visuals when it comes to a game, especially when people think their game is good just because they have cute animu art or anything; but man, this game. The graphics are dayum pretty, you totally deserve that award xD I see how much love, time and energy you put into all of this. I love pewds and his videos (and his friends lol). That trailer made me cry. You're making the kind of story I am really into, like, I love these kind of stories. This game will become a great thing, and I really hope for pewds to see this and play it himself too because it is wonderful so far! Keep up the good work, you're so talented, you can do this~

Beautiful! Like everyone else has said, the visuals are awesome. Further, I really admire the design of felix's house--I think the drug puzzles and the general experienced you evoked through the music and lighting really came together to deliver a very compelling and vapidly stylistic experience. Your eye for aesthetic shows! 

I think this is an amazing first step for you as a designer, so congrats (especially from one Canadian to another), and I can't wait to see what you create with a premise that is isn't based around PewDiePie's ego.
