Hey, me again. So, I got this idea and I'm not sure if it's possible. My game is going to be about the players be able to control their character. I'm making it an Open World RPG with plenty of side quests and a multi-path main quest. I was thinking of how to make the game more customizable. As it stands, the players can choose their race (Elf, Dwarf or Human) and class (Alchemist, Druid, Mage, Ranger, Rogue or Warrior). I'm even adding in advanced 'epic' classes the players can unlock through quests, reaching a certain level and so on. However I want to do more.

There's two things I want to try and do now:
1. Ability Points. Does a script exist that allows players to purchase abilities through ability points? Maybe even upgrade abilities to make them more powerful?

2. Stat Points. Player levels up and instead of automatically getting their stats increased, they get a certain number of points that they get to assign to their stats.


If there are scripts for either, or both, please inform me. I want my players to feel like they have control of their character and that their characters aren't being forced into specific molds.

1) I think you can use Yanfly's skill learning + JP Manager for that...

2) You can use Dekita's ISPDS for that or the KMS Distribution script (which I forgot where to find, but maybe it's there at the masterlist)

     -> I recommend Dekita's though as you can do lots of  things with it, and he's active...

Also realize that you can do all of that without scripts, though of course it'll require more work on your part and it won't have any custom menus. Just food for thought~ Not everything needs scripts.

One way you can do this is create a page condition in your Troop Event that checks for when the enemy's HP is at 0 and design your own leveling up event there.  Change the enemy's state to "immortal'  so you can abort the battle yourself when ever you are ready.

To allow players to assign points all you would have to do is set up a series of choices and add parameters based on what the player picks.  You could throw that into a common event and just call it after checking to see if the player has enough experience points for a new level.

I was aware that Dekita had one, I think it was called Perfect Stat Point Distribution, but last time I checked he doesn't allow his scripts to be used in commercial games.

you didn't say that it's a commercial game... and I believe dekita now allows it, for a fee... and his ISPDS is one of the highest cost script in his scripts (if not the highest)

the perfect stat point dist, was another script which I believe offers less than his ISPDS

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
