I made a 100x75 map, but when I walk around on it, the framerate stutters. There are barely any events on it, and there are no parallel events running in the background. The game uses zero plugins. I'm playing on a pretty high-end PC that runs most modern games at 1080P/60FPS, so it's not that either. Any solutions to improving framerate issues?

Maybe because there's too many looping and moving events? Like at certain second, the set events work at the same time, etc2..

No, there aren't any active events on the map. Just some doors and 2 NPCs. I have yet to add more, so it's probably not going to get any better than this if I leave it like this.

Last playtest I did went smoother, but it still slightly stuttered at points. I don't get why it would do this.

It's probably just MV's bad display performance at work... I can't play anything made with that engine.
Would it not be possible to break down the town into smaller sections?
Even if you could find some kind of anti-lag plugin, as soon as you'll add events, it'll slow down again anyway.
Can you try an empty 100x75 map on a blank project to see if it is slow too?

Ah I see. The post I made on YouTube also shows the same sign, it's around twice that size(but still on VX) and it stutters when because I had around 30 moving events. I did some playtesting on MV couple weeks ago and it turns pretty bad even with small games, but I think it's more of a display performance. Never run into trouble at VXAce.

What about common events with a parallel process trigger that might be running? If the performance is just bad on that one map, and it's on the whole map all the time, it's almost got to be a parallel process event or a plugin.

Or it could be something else you're running on your pc at the same time. A gamedev I knew once spent several hours programming a new part of the game, and when he sat back to test play, he turned on some music to listen to in the background. The game stuttered terribly. He then spent more time undoing his changes piece by piece, testing after each one, with no improvement. Finally deciding it needed his undivided attention, he turned off his music to get down to work, and the game ran flawlessly.
