i managed to figure out where most of the items go to in the project's folder. however, there's one folder in which i don't know where to unzip it to. under Specials, there's a Backgrounds folder, however i don't know where to unzip the background pictures to. does it belong in the Titles folder in my Project folder? please let me know where the 42 png files are transferred to.

Backgrounds? I only had Battlebacks 1 and Battlebacks 2, in my Base Resource folder. Is that what you mean?

not sure if it's allowed to post pics of the files. but here's the folder, if it's not allowed, i'll delete it from imgur.

Those are visual novel backgrounds, I think. There's some super tasteful scantily clad anime women in that folder, as well.

I think someone in another thread said that they're from some other pack.

i saw that thread. it didn't answer what folder the backgrounds are suppose to go to.

The backgrounds are for making a visual novel.

I've been keeping an eye on this thread, but couldn't say anything until I had word from higher up.

This material was added by kdkw at the last minute and is from their other IP - card games, etc. We didn't realize it was included until reported here, so an oversight on our part. Our apologies to anyone who was offended by this content.

The material will be removed from the download as soon as possible, but for those who specifically want it, it will be made available. When and how have not been finalised yet.
If you want to use them as battlebacks, you should put them in the battlebacks folder. I'm not sure if they would need some editing first, though. Otherwise, you would put them in your pictures folder.

Only if you really need them for your project. Don't forget that every file gets exported when you export your game so you should only add what you really need. Those backgrounds are mainly for Visual Novel games.

You could do what I did.
I made 2 Custom Folders.

The first one being the original audios(including the ones from BaseResources).
The reason I backed that up is because I removed ALL of the MP4A audio files completely from "NewData"
so that my new projects will start with OGG only.
(The MP4A audios were causing problems for some reason.)

Then in the 2nd folder I have all my Bonus stuff organized and set for if I ever want to manually copy/paste anything to my project.
I also split the "03_" musics from the BaseResources to their own folder since they are clearly RPG Maker 2003 remakes.
and I don't need them set as default musics because it would take too long in creating a new project.

I seem to go overboard when keeping my stuff organized.
P.S: The "Special_IMG's" is the "special" Visual Novel Ecchi stuff people were apparently complaining about. =.=
So yeah, I have that in it's own place too.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
