Battle actions only work for one character

A very strange issue here that I'm drawing a blank on. In my game, there's a point where you get 3 party members at once (in addition to 1 that you already have). So then you start fighting around and without any apparent cause, the commands for the 3 new party members just don't do anything. In addition to that, the enemies actions don't do anything. The sprites just flash and nothing happens. However! the original character can do whatever you want without issue. 

So weird!

Are you using Symphony Tags? If so are all the skills tagged correctly?

Can you provide screenshots of your enemies/actors/event in question?

Yeah I doubt the tags have anything to do with it because the skills all work, until they just don't. And it really shouldn't affect the enemies anyway.

I'll post some screen shots when I get home. What specifically would be helpful? The resource pages for each of those things or a battle shot? I might actually make a short video too.

A short video might make it clear, being able to see when and how it exactly happens. And yeah any screenshots should be the whole dialogue box.

In addition to that, the enemies actions don't do anything.
One of the problems is that the enemy secondary skill's ratings are too low, they will only be able to use the attack skill.
The ratings are to be used with the conditions, the engine always looks for the skill with the highest rating that has the conditions fulfilled, and selects the used skill from that and all skills that are one or two points below the highest rating.


Since attack has a rating of 5, only skills with ratings of 5,4 and 3 are available - those skills with ratings 2 will never be used.


The skill with rating 3 on one enemy will have a probability of 1/3 that of the attack skill - which means that as an average, it will be used one every fourth turn.


So check the attack-skill (#1) to see if there is any problem with that skill to cause the enemy attack problem - the other skills won't even be used.

I don't mean they aren't performing certain actions. I mean they clearly are doing something because they're atb bar fills up and they flash, but no animation plays, no message pops up, and no damage is dealt. 

It occurs following an actor action not an enemy action. And nothing is changed on the attack skill page at all. In addition to that, one of the actors can still act.

then you have additional errors there (and I don't know those scripts enough to find them), but the ratings are ONE error you should correct anyway.


Still, please post a screenshot of the attack skill - perhaps there is something there that you didn't understand and that's causing those problems now.


Also, link us to all the script's you're using - the notetags show that you're using more than only Symphony, Ace Battle and Yami ATB - and it can be a script incompatibility that causes this.

Also, I should add that this is something like 2.5 hours into the game that this happens. Plenty of fights with plenty of other characters before this with no issue whatsoever. It only happens when you get these three characters (I should also add that this is not a new portion of my game, this is something I've had set up for months and months and only recently did this occur) and it only affects those 3 characters (and the enemies). And lastly, it's not just the attack skill that initiates this problem. It could be anything. 

Update:

So I discovered that it happens following the attack action of the character Sebastian. I changed his weapons and the problem went away. He is dual wielding and I suspect it has something to do with the symphony tags in his weapons. Here's what they look like:

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
