Hi!
I'm pretty sure this has been adressed sometime, but I want to battle againts characters (the ones we can generate) instead of sprites.
So basically, we can do a battle looking like this:

If there is a thread with this topic, please share me the link! :D
Thank you!

Heya! This is possible with the Visustella suite of plugins!

More specifically, the battle core, which is part of the free set of plugins in the sample project they provide: http://www.yanfly.moe/wiki/Battle_Core_VisuStella_MZ

You'll want to study the sideview battlers related notetags, which can show how to replace an enemy with an animated battler, how to give it specific weapons, and so on! http://www.yanfly.moe/wiki/Battle_Core_VisuStella_MZ#Animated_Sideview_Battler-Related_Notetags

If you're new to plugins and notetags and such, though, I understand that may all be quite a bit to take in at once. But with a little practice and research I'm sure you'll get the hang of it!

There are a few plugins that can do this. One notable free one is Visustella MZ's Battle Core. I've found it easy to use and it offers many other features. (You don't have to use them all of course.) Here's the link to their thread:

EDIT: Someone beat me to it. :)

Im actually having trouble with this. I already installed the plugins (I think I did that correctly), and Im adding this to the notes in a specific enemy:

<Sideview Battlers>
SS1 Enemy
</Sideview Battlers>

Still, the animated character doesn't show up. Im making sure my file is in the sv_actor folder.

I had a similar problem when I first started using BattleCore. Try making a copy of the file, and assign the copied file to the notetag. Otherwise, just double-triple-super check to make sure you've written the filename correctly.

Glad you were able to get it working! When you apply new plugins, I think sometimes you have to be extra sure you've saved the changes made before launching to test, otherwise the project is still configured without it. That goes especially if you load existing saves, for example. So if you run into similar issues in the future, make sure to double-check that stuff!

@jitomaynez Be sure to take a few steps back until you isolate what exactly it was that got it working so you'll know the next time you create an enemy XD

1 - If you're only using one file, why use the "Battlers" tag instead of the singular <Sideview Battler: filename> tag?

2 - As MZ games are HTML-based, it can cause a variety of problems if you have spaces in your filenames. It's best for you to rename the file and any others you've made, or it may cause problems down the road when you try to deploy and run on other people's computers (or the Internet).

I already have the idea for my next plugin... :D

A spoiler: It will have to do with the Switches and time.

Let's see if you can guess what it is?
Anybody else do this thing where you go like, "Oooh, so-and-so wud be such a good name for a game!" And then you write it down. And then yo games-to-be-made folder has like, 89 entries wid nothin' but a name?

Just me? :kaoswt:
We've been tricked, we've been backstabbed and we've been, quite possibly, bamboozled.

Finally figured out the source of my problems - WindowBase's contentsWidth() doesn't actually return the width of its contents :kaoswt2:
Lies of P. 5/10. It's like Dark Souls if you removed everything great about Dark Souls. It makes me want to replay Dark Souls.
