RPG Maker Forums

Hello there.

I have run into a bit of a snag with MV. However, I cannot figure out the cause of my problem.

Problem: The speed of skill animations, state overlays, and SV Actors are all slowed down during battles.

So, I have one project that I am currently using as the guinea pig for a large number of Yanfly plugins. While most of the work on my game is currently spent in Word Docs, I regularly jump into MV to test out newly released plugins. It wasn't until after the 1.1.0 update to MV that I began to notice a massive slowdown to the animations in battles. Additionally, this slowdown is only present while I have Yanfly plugins installed. However, I cannot figure out which of them is actively causing the problem.

I have attempted to turn off and modify the various plugins with no luck of solving the problem. I have adjusted the 'Animation Rate' parameter in the YEP_CoreEngine, but it only affects the speed of skill animations. I am currently under the impression that the 1.1.0 update is negatively affecting one of the core YEP plugins (such as how the CoreEngine may be determining animation rates), but I have no way of checking that. Though, if that were the case, it is possible I wouldn't be the only person experiencing this problem with battles. Also, this problem likely would have crossed Yanfly's path by now.

Presently, I am without any clue on how to proceed. This seemed like the best place to share my problem and to receive possible solutions. I have an idea I am going to try, but I don't believe anything fruitful will come of it. Thank you for your time, and for any suggestions you may have. :)

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
