I was working on my game and as I was playtesting it I came across an odd glitch. The battleback did not show up and in the background of the fight I saw my map.

Here's a screen shot.

Now at first I was trying to fix this, but I actually kind of like the way that looks. Is there a way to replicate this on all my maps?

I tried setting the battleback to none but I still get this:

Is it possible to replicate that glitch for all battles?

Thanks for any help.

If you don't set a specific battleback under mapsettings for the map, that is what will happen during battles.

That's what I thought but when I tried that on the World Map, that second picture is what happened. The battleback on that map was set to "none"

Tried it myself and that seems to happen yes, huh. I had missed it did that on the world map.

Don't know how to do it then, though I guess you could take a picture of your worldmap, put it in your battlebacks folder and then specify that one as it for the map?

I thought about that, but I'd need a new picture for every spot you could be on the world map, plus a complicated event to know which picture to show as the battleback.

Do you know of anyway to disable the automatic battleback on world map tiles?

I haven't tested this, but what about using a fully transparent picture as the battleback?

Got curious myself and tested Andar's idea, a transparent picture as the battleback for both 1 and 2 works on the world map.

I never thought about that. I'm not able to try it now, but as soon as I'm able I'll test that. Thanks.

@Mayuen

Thanks, for testing and for your earlier help.

Go to the tileset on the database and change the 'Mode' of the tileset to 'Area Type'

I have the same problem.

In the test battle I got the battle background that I want.

But in game The background image is just the map with some transparency and a little bit foggy

I did what was said here before but my Tileset already is an Area Type, Its a dungeon.

I actually liked the background like this, but I would like to at least make the boss battle with a different background.

@cybarxz
please do not hijack other people's topic, especially not ancient ones, but start your own topic.
that is because contrary to a lot of claims there usually are differences in what only superficially looks like the same error.

in that new topic, please include a screenshot of the map properties because that is where a battleback like that is set.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
