Battle Command: Use Skill

This plugin allows you to add commands that allow your actors to use skills directly without accessing the skill menu.

All of the skill use properties are the same: your actor must be able to use the skill, have enough MP/TP/other requirements, and so on.
If enemy or actor selection is required, they will be processed as usual.

I can't seem to get it to disable or hide the "use_skill" that I have setup.

I'm using the script call:

disable_actor_command(1, "use_skill", 13)

and i've even tried

hide_actor_command(1, "use_skill", 13)

for skill #13 that I want to disable, but it keeps showing up in battle.

Any idea what could be wrong? Everything else about this and your battle command plugin work perfectly.

Here is the skill, actor tags, and event box.

It looks fine. Try these


1. Create a new troop that only disables actor commands on turn 0


2. Disable any other plugins that may interfere with this

Glorious! Would you consider adding a limited number of use for these skills instead of MP?
I will consider writing a separate plugin that changes the way skill consumption is done.


I'm still wondering whether it would be necessary to make it so that devs can "choose" whether they want to use MP, or use count.

There was a bug in the way the use_skill command extra data was being handled.

It was stored as a string, but the instructions I provided for the script calls were comparing them with numbers.

eg:

hide_actor_command(5, "use_skill", 2)vs
Code:
hide_actor_command(5, "use_skill", "2")
The latter would have worked, but it is not what I had designed.I have updated the plugin so that it works with numbers.

What are the differences between this plugin and Bobstah's Battle Comands plugin? I'm wondering which to use.

What are the differences between this plugin and Bobstah's Battle Comands plugin? I'm wondering which to use.
Mostly a difference in design.


Bobstah's plugin currently has more functionality, so if it does everything you need I would just go for that.


Mine is designed so that any plugin developer could in theory convert anything into a command, and then they would be able to take advantage of the functionality that the "actor battle commands" plugin provides.


For example, if someone wanted to provide a command that allowed you to change equips during battle, but then they would also like you to be able to set up conditions where the equip command should be hidden or disabled, actor battle commands would handle all of that for them.

This might seem like a dumb question, but is there any kind of way to have the help window for the skills pop-up anyway? While I would go to another plugin just to have the help window, none of them really have what I need, whilet this plugin does- It's just a shame that the help window no longer appears. If not, that's fine. Sorry for the bother ^q^;;

Thanks, this is just what I was looking for!


I wanted to keep the battle menu very "lite" and quick to use without everything being nested. This was a very easy to use plugin.
