Hey Everyone,
I'm making a Pokemon-ish game. I have a few monsters set up, and the PC storage system is functional. Now I'm moving to the battle system. I've been studying the Pokemon trading card battle system. I've also looked at the traditional Gameboy Pokemon battpe system which there is a simple plugin I can add.

The TCG uses a item cost system. Would anyone know a conditional branch where a skill would cost 3 energy points but not deduct 3 energy when used.

Use variables (for the energies). This may also require an action conditions script
Also, conditinal branches don't reduce or add anything

I've moved this thread to MV Support. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

If it's a "how-to" question, it doesn't belong in the Maker General area.

You haven't specified how your battle system works or how you normally cause your mons to lose energy points, so I'm going to make the best assumption that you're using RPG Maker's included combat screen. If that's true, what I'd suggest is to use Yanfly's Skill Core and put a
<Custom Requirement> notetag on the skills you want to require (but not consume) energy. Then, you can make the actual cost (in the database) 0 for those skills. The skill will only be usable when the mon has enough energy - but they'll keep the energy afterwards. No "conditional branch" required.

If you are eventing the entire battle system and ignoring RPG Maker's battle screen, then you need to tell us a lot more about how your battle system works and how energy is normally added, tracked, and consumed, before we can give you a solution.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD

Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
