Battleback Dimensions?

So I'm going to be making my own graphics for the game I'm just now getting into (in all honesty I'm still working out the plot) and I was wondering what the dimensions of the battlebacks are? On their own and the 'full' versions (so both the background and foreground put together).

My primary concern is that they'll look good even if the player decides to go fullscreen and I figure following the existing dimensions will solve that giving I'm following the 32x32 tile size RPGVXAce is native to.

(I tried to check in my games' folders but the battlebacks don't appear to show up there and I'm worried I'd be a few pixels off if I just cut the screen out from a playtest.)

If you do not have the steam version go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Enterbrain\RGSS3\RPGVXAce\Graphics , there you will find all the default battlebacks.

Don'tz even bother with remembering the paths - it's much simpler (and the correct way works for both steam and standalone versions, not only the standalone like said above):

Open the resource manager, select the battleback (or any resource you want to check or edit) and then click on the export button to save it wherever you want.

If you edit it, reimport it into the project the same way.

I'd give somewhat different advice.

You want your battleback to fill your screen.  Therefore it needs to be the same size as your resolution.  If you are using the default resolution, that is 544 x 416 pixels, and that is the size of the combined default Battleback 1 and 2.

However, if you change your resolution, you will also need to change the size of your battlebacks (and everything else too). The most common change is using Yanfly's core Engine or similar to change it to 640 x 480.  If that is what you have done, then that is the size of your battleback.

For having noticed that battlebacks can move following the type of attacks of the enemies, I strongly advice you to use a slightly bigger size than the default 544*416, or 640*480 if you use this one.

What I do is adding 32 pixels to each dimension, to get a 576*448 resolution or a 672*512: like this, the bad guys can shake the screen as much as they want, the battleback will still take it entirely.

Another possibility is to use a seamlessly tileable background, like this the player will not notice the border of the battleback coming inside the display on each side of it, but this may be a lot of work.

@Gui

Good point - I hadn't thought about shaking battlebacks as I don't use that feature.

Oh, good point! I'll ask for feedback about that in the forum more suited for early game planning. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Or you could, you know, look in the help file ...

Help File said:
Battle Backgrounds (Graphics/Battlebacks1, Graphics/Battlebacks2)

A file containing images to be used as backgrounds on the battle screen.

Battlebacks1 is mainly floor images, while Battlebacks2 is mainly wall images. The two can be freely combined as a battle background.

The size is fixed to 580 × 444, slightly larger than the screen.
and see that the default size is actually larger than the screen.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
