So I recently spent the last hour struggling with a thing in the program. I was following along in Kelsper's excellent Beginner's Guide and ended up with a problem. At one point my world map battlebacks had changed to the swirly abstract look and I couldn't figure out what I'd done wrong.

I tried deleting and recreating all my troops. No dice. And frustrated grunting certainly wasn't helping. I tried replacing every tile on my world map, and still no fix. Looking on the forums with the search feature wasn't solving my problem either.

And then I found the solution. It had apparently occurred after I messed around with the tile sets. And while this solution may be obvious to some, I wanted to put it out there in case it will help anyone else (hopefully no one else will have to spend an hour tearing out their hair trying to figure out how they broke their program/game). What I'd done is changed the tileset for Field to Area Type rather than Field type.

So in case the battlebacks ever starts doing weird things for you guys, make sure your tileset is labelled right!

EDIT: Changed 'backgrounds' to 'battlebacks' at the suggestion of Engr. Adiktuzmiko.

It's called Battleback... please learn and use the RM terms to avoid confusions.

AFAIK, if you use the full editor you can change the thread title :)

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
