Ahh okay.

Well i did that.

I did not think the thread would turn into one in which i would be posting content.. but since it has become as such, it needs moved to the proper location.

For now i gotta get some reast.

I had no idea it was so late.

I hope i can find the thread when i get back on later.. lol
On your screen, scroll up, hit your profile name. It'll conjure up a pop-up, scroll and click MY CONTENT, then a new page will pop-up, there you'll be able to find thise Thread regardless where it was moved.

Thanks for the help there.. some times these forums can be tricky.

Keep up the good work! BTW, you can try making them in 3/4 view... This way that can be usable in both systems.
For now i'm going to do side view.. and later i will do some front view ones.

I'll move this thread, however, if you're posting resources for feedback, please post in the WIP thread instead.
No not looking for feedback.

Feedback tends to lead to me getting discouraged and then giving up.

I'm just going to make what i'm making and then make it available for people, and they can use it or don't use it.

I'm too sensitive for my own good some times...

On another note, i found a way to improve the process.

I'm going to draw the monster on paper, scan it.. then do some tracing using my tablet i have.

And if anyone's wondering why i just don't use the tablet..

I can't, there is this... disconnect i have using it.. because i don't see what i am drawing as i draw it at the tip of the stylus... it's on the screen.. and so it's very hard for me to be accurate.. i end up just getting very aggravated and giving up.

I wonder if they make touch screen like tablets?..

Oh, and if anyone has sugestions for monsters, feel free to post them.

(sorry for the spelling errors.. i know my spelling is horrible.. that's another reason i stop trying to make games.. my writing is the worst of the worst)

Sounds like what you want is a cintiq.

I know how you feel about wanting to make games but really only being interested in making art for games.  That's exactly where I am.  Don't worry though, there are plenty of non-artist types willing to do everything else who love having people like us around.  :D

These guys seem really small, but they look awesome.  Side battles are so much more dynamic, I'm glad there's going to be more monsters for that style of setup.

if you want a simple one, just use Yanfly's visual battlers... it's almost just plug and play... and you don't need any animated enemy battler script too since the resources that mike will make aren't animated...

Actually, you don't need animated ones for Victor's either.

It takes a little work.. but i got monsters working that have no frames.. all they do is flash when they do an attack and that was done within the scripts.

It's totally up to you what you use.

I just find Victor's scripts to be more robust.. but many people do have difficulty using his scripts... i see people all the time posting just to ask him how to do things only to have him get kinda upset with them over stuff.... and i hate to see you go through that.

yeah, they are quite complicated especially to those who are just starting out with RGSS... and also I prefer Yanfly's scripts not only because they are simpler to use but also because they are free for both commercial and free games so they are a lot less hassle to use... Victor's scripts aren't free for commercial (or at least most of his stuff)...

but then of course Victor's can do more... it's just a matter of what you need and what can you devote to apply them... so for simple needs, yanfly's scripts are a really good choice... :)

I tried a different method.. and honestly it does not look any better to me than the simpler method i was doing to make monsters..

It's not much better.. and it took awhile to make... longer than the first 2 monsters i did.

So i think i have finally got it how i'm going to it.

Slimes, mushrooms, bats, coffins, wolves, killer beetles.

Also, I liked your first two battlers, but the red ghost is a bit too plain. You may want to go back to it and add more folds to the robe, or some tatters... Something so it's not so flat.

Thanks.. you're right.. even i seen that.. it kept bugging me.. but i was trying an easier method and or process.. and it honestly looked horrible to me to.

Thankfully i just realized have this cool art software called Corel Painter Essentials.. i forgot i had it.

It's making the process easier yet more detailed...

I was using Photo Shop.. but photo shop as far as i could tell had no rotation options so it was harder to get the lines i wanted... i used this one tool i thought would help.. and it did not help at all.

And thankyou so much for the suggestions.. my brain was.. bleh..

Mushrooms... i had an idea the other day for a mushroom monster that was more like a fungus and had like.. different faces and stems coming off... i totally forgot about it until you mention it just now.

Any more suggestions, keep em coming folks.

How about various elementals? i.e. fire, water, earth, wind, etc.

different grades of soldiers are always useful

non-specific NPCs - inevitably people want something that doesn't quite fit into a general category, so a more generic battler (male and female) can fill the gap e.g. one in villager clothes, one in town clothes,

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
