Good call!

Did not even think about that.

For the moment i'm touching up my last ghost.. adding more shading.. i could not move on until i improved him..

I wonder if all artists are like that?

Anyhow, once i'm done with him, i'm moving on.

I hate to bump this.. just want to appologize for how long this is taking... when i am done working on all the monsters.. it's going to be released as a package.

The process i settled on takes awhile.. and i'm taking my time.

I draw the monsters rather big on a large piece of paper... all sorts of shading...

Then i scan it in... and .. basically struggle to color it JUST right.

I think it's working out rather well...

Here is an example lol

What starts as a large drawing becomes the battler you see in the lower left hand part of the image.

(Warning: Large picture in spoiler)

But art can often take time.

Specially with me.. i'm SO slow.

Again.. sorry for bumping this..

I felt if anyone was expecting this to come fast, i would explain myself... i guess so as to keep from frustrating anyone expecting it much sooner.

Just keep your eyes peeled.

I will post updates now and then with something of an update to my progress.

Loving that bee-bird-wasp thingy lol

It's always nice to have some more side view battlers :)

Keep up the good work.

If you need any suggestions on what to make I'll try to think of a few.

It's a wasp.. it started as me trying to draw a high res version of the FF6 wasp.. and it just ended up looking VERY different.

And any suggestions would be good.

In my mind right now i am thinking of a plant monster.

And some guards and Knights like bad guys.

Do all the classic Halloween monsters!  Ghosts, Zombies, Witches, Skeletons, Bats, Spiders, Mummies, Werewolves!  Did I forget any?

If you're looking for inspiration, pick a culture and start researching what kind of monsters they have in the local mythology.  You could also play some of your favorite games and pay attention to what kinds of monsters there are and see how others have done it.

My suggestions are all just to give you ideas though, you should give the suggesters who will make games with these things more attention.

Have a bit of an update..

For awhile there i got really sick...

Then some how i lost my mojo.. i'm having hell getting back into wanting to draw anything..

Been in a slump, and my depression is tearing me a new one.

As soon as i have that.. drive again that i had when i started.. i will get back to work on these.

But right now i'm a wreck... a lot of things going on in my life at the moment as well.. i won't go into detail.. but some bad things been happening.. and i just can't seem to pull myself out of this rut...

It's a bad thing when you have all these ideas and want to do something, but your body doesn't moves because of life matters being dicks against you. :C

Be strong ma'freind!

ninjalex: Just so you know it's spelled pique.  It's a good list though.

MikePjr:  I know what you mean, I have problems like that and it's entirely because of depression.  It's hard work, but you should find ways to keep being artist and creative even when you aren't feeling it if you want to get anywhere with it.  I find if I work anyway when I can't seem to draw anything worthwhile that I get out of my slump faster and there's an improvement in my "I feel like it" artwork that wouldn't be there otherwise.  Unless, of course, it's burn out.  Then I really do just need a break.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
