I'm really proud of myself so far with my game. I love the conditions, the events, the cutscenes, and my loop events. i've even manage to create a system where area's will only unlock if a condition is met, whatever that condition is. My issue is the bed though  >_>  I want my character to take a nap and wake up to the phone ringing (yes i changed it from the letter. I felt the event happen to fast and didn't develop the story) but i'm trying to make it mandatory that it only happens once and unless the phone switch is off, my character cannot go back to bed. i also do not want my character to sleep and the phone rings every time she wakes up so if the phone switch is off, she can sleep like any normal sleep event. I do not want it to "heal" her because there are no boss battles. It's a mystery problem solve kinda game. she won't be losing any health. but my event only makes her sleep, wake up, and the phone doesn't ring. I tried fixing it and now it won't even activate!  :headshake:  I have no idea what to do anymore.

You have the second page set to trigger via action button; meaning it can only occur when the player interacts with it via examining it. I'd recommend setting this entire event up in one event page (your first one set to player touch) also with the condition that if the phone ringing switch isn't on then the phone events occur, if the switch is on then normal sleep related events occur. You'd just turn the switch on at the end of the first condition. There's no particular reason this needs to have multiple event tabs, especially just to play sound effects and the like.

I am not understanding you.  :|  The switch (phone ring) is suppose to be off for normal sleep, not on.

Yes, you can set on the Conditional Branch to check if the switch is on, and also if the switch is off.

@Arï It doesn't actually matter how you use the switch; its relative to the purpose you give it. Doing what I recommend will result in what you want. In this case I gave the purpose of the switch turning on branching the event to play out with "regular" sleep. Since the switch won't turn on until after the events of the first conditional branch they play out the phone related events the first time. Any other time after that, regular sleep occurs because now the switch will be on in the condition and it will branch to play those events.

Like this: I did this under my own project, so I didn't have a phone sound effect and used a different switch number but you should get the point.

Oh! That makes so much sense! Thank you!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such?
