I've successfully set up my game to have a series of passive skills (status effects with no icon) that apply forever using YEP Auto Passive States, and one of those passive abilities is adding a three-turn status effect to one character once battle begins.
If you've player Paper Mario TTYD, it would be the badge lucky day- you get a random positive status when battle starts. Exactly that, with a different effect. It would be a permanent upgrade though, so once you get the ability it would have to work in every subsequent battle.
I've searched around the forums and the few responses I've found either focus on one specific battle or use some crazy workaround that would conflict with all the "status effects"- ie, passive abilities- all my characters have active in combat.
Is there any simple way to just add a status that applies before every fight? Tied to an actor, armor piece, weapon, etc?
