Hi! I am having such trouble with my game right now. I have been toying around with the system and just...it's hard. I am having a hard time understanding the system.

First of all, I wanted to have a scene run before I had my character be controllable. It's raining out and the screen is black, thus the map is black. The character's starting position is somewhere at the bottom and the character has no graphic so she doesn't show up. However it will flash when done and won't transfer my character down. Tried what other tutorials say but nothing seems to bring my character to the next map. Then when getting to the next map, I wanted to change the graphic so my character isn't just blending into the screen and is completely transparent anymore. Please, please help!

I've moved this thread to Ace support. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

Don't place the transfer command on the second page - with that code you don't need a second page.

And you don't need to change the graphic of your actor - use the "Transparent ON" option in the database to start invisible and the command change transparency to disable that.

And always name your actors, even if you give the player the option to rename them - especially if you have several unnamed actors it's impossible to direct the change commands to the correct actor because the engine uses the names to display the target (see that [] on the change actor graphic - that is supposed to contain the name of the actor you change the grafic for)

As a beginner, I suggest you follow the link to the starting point in my signature - those tutorials will get you up to the basics as fast as possible, including the mistakes I mentioned above.

Additionally, I suggest you try a reinstallation - your editor does not work correctly, the event options should be greyed out unless they're activated.

And third - please use [alt]-[prtscrn] for your screenshots instead of the simple [prtscrn] - that will limit the screenshot to the active windows and make it better readable while needing less space.

Another useful tip when taking screen shots - if you press Alt + PrtSc you get just the active window, i.e. the event page, rather than the whole of your monitor.  This makes your screen shot a lot smaller and also protects your privacy.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
