Is this laptop okay? If not, could you suggest a laptop under $300 I could use?

I personally would NEVER touch that brand again - laptop or computer, based on previous experiences with each and with their lousy support.  I won't go into details, but some companies you just decide to steer clear of after being bitten a few times.

It is sort of hard to say, most new computers should really be able to run any of the rpgmakers specs wise, and the specs have been linked above, though my semi-decent computer freezes up trying to run mv but my daughter's 200 dollar discount acer can run it with no problems.

I will second Shaz's recommendation however, I firmly believe that brand of computers are deliberately designed to break down as soon after they get out of warranty as possible.

I found this article, don't know if it will help you at all or not. You might compare the ones to the specs listed above. https://laptopninja.io/finding-the-best-laptops-under-300-dollars/

Personally, I'm using an Asus right now (since December) and so far it's been great (though it was a more expensive model). I've also had a Lenovo laptop, which only wore out because of my kids and we have a Lenovo desktop that's going on 5 years old with no major issues. (Boy, I hope I'm not cursing myself with these statements.) All, that to say, I'd recommend those brands based on my experience.

Exactly!  Like the day after  the warranty expires!

I have an ASUS laptop as well - cost me about $1000 almost 2 years ago (that's AU, so it would be cheaper in US).  My husband just priced some new ones and they came in around $600-$700AU.  I know that's twice the price of the one in the link, but imo the quality is far superior, and again, US prices are probably lower.

You probably don't need anything as good as an Asus, but as I use mine for work, it's the only brand I'll look at now.

I have a lenovo and Its complete crap. Can't even run Mv without the bgm lagging. And other tasks are almost impossible to do. 300 dollars wasted. Should've just built my own pc. That's what I think you should do.

Yeah, there are some less expensive Asus models in that link. Mine is possibly a bit overkill for what I need, but I love it. It was worth saving my pennies for.

I've gotten very good life out of both Acer and HP computers. The last HP Ultrabook I used cost me $550 and had specs on-par with a mid-range gaming computer in 2008. It lasted almost 7 years, and I only stopped running it because the specs fell behind (it's still working otherwise). I agree with the rest of the people in this thread, avoid Dell outright. But any modern laptop should run MV just fine, so it's all down to whatever price you're willing to pay.

Okay, so I /think/ (?) I found something doable (pretty gibberish to me, but I think I've got it), but I'm not sure if Raedon is compatible with RPG Maker...

Here's the laptop.

I just want to know if it'll work, and how good it will. (I feel like  I look like I'm lazy to other people, but I really just don't know what to do because I don't know what I'm looking at.)

@Yappy Monoxide The laptop you linked to is almost identical in stats, except doesn't run DDR3 RAM, has a worse processor (AMD A6 quad-core only runs at 1.7 GHz), and doesn't have an integrated R4 graphics card. It's also only $7 cheaper. Letchku, I'd definitely go with the one you linked above him.

Oops. Read the components wrong. Looking at different Laptops.

Ok after searching around for I a while I'm pretty sure the one you linked originally is the best one. Sorry for linking a worse one.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
