I'm coming from an intermediate Java background and I know how HTML and CSS documents are structured, just wanted a few opinions on the best way to get into Web Dev with JavaScript or anything else? And the best methods for learning it.

Since you already know another programming language (Java, not HTML lol), maybe catch up on all the syntax and operators in Javascript (there's generally a "quick" syntax and operator tutorial for most programming languages that is constructed FOR programmers and not beginners on youtube). Then I suppose check some tutorials of people creating concrete things in your framework.

I would say that the best way is learning the basics and working with it. That way you will need to do tons of research, learn how things work "behind the scripts" and remember it far longer than if you just read a book.

You can use my project(Link in the signature) to play and experiment with javascript.

OP was a spambot, but I'll leave this thread open, as I feel it could help others as well. :)

A spambot that starts useful thread and that is understandable? Wow. He passes the Turing Test.

It’s been an increasing problem. They make meaningful posts to get approved and then start the spam. Sometimes they do this simply by copying an old thread so that it’s less likely to get noticed. Not sure if actual bots, but it’s definitely spam.

Try Udemy. There are loads of tutorials there at cheap price.

I have been using www.codecademy.com to learn Javascript. Free and useful and assumes you know nothing.
I have a good grasp on programming and have learned several languages at one time or another; however I always struggle with syntax and this has helped.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
