Here I am again with an old-fart-XP-related-question. Back in XP we could add a fog to our maps for extra atmosphere, but this function is not available in MV. What is the best way to mimic this in MV? By just adding a picture, the image isn't parallaxing and it ain't easy to scroll it either.

Are there better ways? Is there maybe a script available already?

Seconded! =) You can mimic some fog effects by using Pictures and Galenmereth's 'Bind Pictures to Map' plugin, but not all. Personally, I'm looking for a way to have scrolling fog that repeats properly (like how you could set the Scrolling X and Y commands in XP on Fogs).

I have been working on a fog plugin, but Woratana also hinted at doing a fog plugin, so I'm holding off on mine to see what he does.

Oh, cool! Great to see people are already working on it haha. Thanks for letting us know - I'll keep an eye out then! =D

Great, i'll kepe an eye out for Woratana's script and maybe use Galenmereth's 'Bind Pictures to Map' plugin for the time being.

Edit: Galenmereth's 'Bind Pictures to Map' gives me incredible lagg. So at this point there is no working fog function in MV. I hope Woratana will decide to make one  :)

Thanks caveman! But just to let you know, that first link just gives a 404 error. I took a look at the script in the demo, though, and it looks like it works well! But I'm afraid I'd need plugin commands to do what I want to do, so I'll probably need to wait for Wortana's script (as you called it multifog, do you know if it's available somewhere else?).

Thanks again though =D

Check the Foreground.js script from the JP team.

Oh, I hadn't noticed the Foreground plugin! It's quite similar to caveman's script, though - no plugin commands or (at first glance) way to manipulate the fog in an event. Hopefully one of these might help the topic creator out, though =)

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
