Be warned that if it died due to physical damage, there is a really huge chance you're not getting that data back without taking it to a PC recovery place that does a service that usually costs over $600 USD. I lost two hard drives last year with a TON of information and I'm never getting that back. Still trying to get over that, but I can't. Either way, I can't afford that, so I never did it. If it was just a software issue, like Windows died and thus it can't be accessed, then using an external enclosure and using free/paid recovery software would be the best route.
Hope that it's only a slight software error and not physical damage death. Otherwise, RIP.
