Bi-Weekly Battler, Felix!

The Bounty Hunters Guild decided they didn't really want to prove a point all that bad, so they sent Felix after the dread beast Gluttony.  The Mt. Zurat summoners would find out they sent someone after the bounty they were denied, and Felix was out of their hair once and for all... so they thought.

Shayde, determined to save face after being snubbed, expended some of his own personal fortune to outfit Felix as well as possible; of course Felix took this a bit too far, focusing on everything he thought would make him look "cool" instead of what might actually be effective.  Eventually, even Shayde tired of attempting to whip Felix into hunting shape, and gave him a pile of gold to buy whatever he wanted.

Felix, forever posing for an invisible pict-captur that isn't there, bought all of the coolest things he could find; and here is the result.

An expensive haircut, new (extra large) guns, and the biggest sword he could find.  Shayde knew Felix could barely aim those hand cannons, much less swing the sword!  He would have to take matters into his own hands if he expected anything other than Felix's death.

And so Shayde tailed Felix to Gluttony's subterranean lair, the terrifying entrance reshaped by dark magic to appear as a enormous gaping maw of shadow.  In those shadows, Felix would find his first enemy (well Shayde would probably end up killing it, but Felix definitely had a chance of dying first)...

1. Whiptail-Blade Scorpion - These natural predators of the Dust Mountains have been driven into a frenzy by the presence of Gluttony, some growing ten times their normal size!  Dark magic has gripped their minds and bodies, enhancing their already potent exoskeletons and their aggression levels are off the charts.

2. Sand Wyrm - A massive wyrm, its body plated with what must be solid stone chitin, it has an unending appetite for adventurers (for anything really).  Its stone jaws can bite through the strongest of armor.

3.  Hunter Ghoul -  An army of hunter ghouls on the scent of Gluttony.  These abominations of fleshmetal peer into the hidden world of Magic with their single blazing eye, able to hunt down anything their master sets them to.

And for the next entry, I'm going with the sand wyrm. As long as you have in mind that the size of a wyrm is actually smaller that a european-kind dragon. If not, I am going to permanently hate you for not knowing draconic anatomy.

And no, I am not fun at parties.

Srsly, tho: I'm kind of surprised that an artist of your caliber is leaving this resources around for anyone to take. With the proper crediting done, of course. Because you are...right?

The wyrm would be large, for sure; but probably not dragon large.

Yes the battlers are for anyone to use, just credit me.

I am a staff artist at RPGmaker, so this is kind of a fun thing to do with the community

Also, Felix is more likely to be helped by his fellow bounty hunter Shayde than the Runic Hunter from last week.  But even then, most of that will just be in the writing of the ever evolving, dramatic, amazing, battler storyline.

Seeing this pic just gave me an idea for a game with Felix as the main character. Will he save the world, or will he destroy it when he trips on his own cape?

Too bad that now makes the 7th game Idea or so I've had since starting with RPGMaker, and I'm still on game #1.

Write it down, use it later ;-)... Felix is a great main character and in a game with much story telling, Felix and Runic Hunter should be played alternating.

Then again, I think him having dumb luck and actually succeeding would be really funny. Maybe he finds gluttony in a cave, aims one of those cannons at him. But the recoil makes him hit the celling instead, and he causes a cavin that kills gluttony? hey, it could happen

I can actually see that happening, Felix would be like "you're going DOWN, Gluttony!!" then he fires the gun and gets knocked onto his back, and knocks himself out, then when he comes to, he looks around, seeing Gluttony crushed by rocks, and says "I... totally meant to do that!" then he strikes heroic pose. And attempts to walk out slowly, like in the movies, only to trip on his own cape.

I chose the ghouls mostly because fleshmetal sounds a little cooler than stone jaws, but it was a very close call.

I don't know how to put this without sounding like a jerk. Has anyone else noticed that the sword is more than a little crooked?

It curves forward purposefully, to put more weight into the striking end

Well who knows how much money he has already blown.  Its not like he is making bank on bounty hunting.

Can you imagine if Felix made an RM game? He would probably load it up with "all the coolest scripts" and not really give a damn about what they do for his game, or how they affect it. Wonder what his strength would be? Storytelling? Mapping? Who knows?
