Jickey23 here, jack of all trades, master of none. I've been dabbling in game development for...jeeze what seems like 12 years or so now. I'm also a musician with slant towards composition and programming in DAWs; a visual artist with acrylic and oil paint being my preferred medium; homebrewer and all around general nerd. I've signed up for this forum because well....honestly, I've got less than two months to put out a game for a game jam. This place is so far the best resource I've found, has already helped me make it over my first few technical hurdles in RM VXA and seems friendly enough to boot. Sadly, at least so far, RPG Maker is just as clunky and inflexible as I remember it being in the 2000 days(Given, I've yet to do more than dip my toe into Ruby, which is a nice addition). Ah....nostalgia. So why am I even using RM? I know that's what you are thinking. Well, the game jam requires I use it! Secondly, I managed to grab a free copy. And lastly, this game jam is for charity!
I very much look forward to speaking with you guys, and hopefully will at least be able to contribute something in return for all the help and knowledge I gain here in the coming weeks. In fact, my entire discography is under creative commons, and I'll post a link in the near future, and maybe someone out there will find that my music fits their game perfectly!(most likely a horror game, huehuehue) But for now, my brain is starting to shut down as its almost one in the morning, so peace out!
