Hi everyone,

this evening I found these amazing battlers - http://www.geocities.co.jp/Milano-Cat/3319/muz/002.html but, while I really like the artstyle and there are some that match my theme perfectly, they just seem so small. I used them in a battle test and I think that I can make them work with a custom battleback, but still - they're nonetheless pretty small.

What do you think of them? Are they too small or just fine?

Thanks!

It depends on what you're going to do with them.  If I'm remembering correctly those battlers were made with a side view system in mind, and they're scaled with that in mind.  I think they'd also work well with the Old School Tiles or the Tiny 16 set since everything is double sized.  They look a bit small if you're doing a default front view system though.

You could try resizing and then raising the sharpness afterward.

You can vectorize them and then rescale.

And there is some program floating on the webz that is made to resize pixel art to some clean image. Forgot what it's called though.

Yeah, they're definitely for side-view system. Even if you were to successfully rescale them, they're still facing to the side, so I personally wouldn't use them for a front-view battle system.

I'll use them for a side view, of course  ;)

Still, even for a side view they are pretty small - does anyone know of any good battle backs that match them perhaps?

Or some other way of making them stand out? Right now when I try to set up fake battles with them they just seem to blur with the background.

I mostly do my vector work in Adobe Illustrator, but i'll look at it.

On the battlers, yes they are for a sideview system. Just don't bother with them if you use anything else.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
