Hey guys!

So my battle animations, except for the combos and the Crystal skills, are 100% COMPLETE! Hallelujah! This includes both party and enemy animations, battle, interact and talk! :D

So now I’m finishing up all my NPC art. As I was going through I realized that my style, and as a result my newer NPCs, changed in the past 2+ years, so the newer ones look different than the original ones I drew earlier in the Project. This is why I’ve been working this week and probably all of next week on redrawing my old NPC so that the style is somewhat consistent. This’ll mean Starsio and Arthur will get new game sprites soon too~!

Here is a comparison of Anita’s sprite. Anita is one of the very first NPCs revealed. What do you guys think of her style change?

Seriously, it could be personal's opinion, but i like your old style very much compare to new style.
Much more pretty with thin line & cute face. The new art's lines are so thick..
Did you switch from hand-draw to digital pen draw?

I agree with Isabella Ava, the old art appears more detailed due to the finer lines (especially in the face).

@Isabella Ava Yes, I am redoing them digitally by tracing from a paper sketch using a digital pen. I felt like the thick likes added more "pop" to the characters on the maps. I'll try reducing the line thickness to see if it resonates more with the original style.

I truly appreciate this kind of feedback. Thank you!

I revised Starsio's walk sprite to be in proportion with the rest of the NPCs and the environment.


I drew with a lighter line thickness this time. I hope it comes across better :)

I like the lighter line :thumbsup-right:
However when she moves sideways her eye looks a bit funny (bit to much to the front I think) in the 2018 version. Or that's just me... who knows lol

I agree about the eye being to close to the edge of the face. The spacing was better in the old versions, but the walk overall is an improvement! :3 well done.

Thank you for your feedback guys! I will take your comments into account when doing the final version just before game release :)
