Hello,
recently I was making my first RPG, and I was looking through vehicles. However, I was met with some errors.
I tried to spawn a boat in the water next to an island, however the boat was invisible.
I tried to go on it as well as off, and that worked.
However, I think the root of the issue is that the boat is under the water tiles.
My reasoning is that the boat can spawn on land normally and be visible. However, as soon as it reaches the water, the sprite conflict and the ship disappear.
I do not have any scripts or plugins.
Any help would be appreciated :kaoluv:

(is it even possible for the water sprites to be over the boat's?? Cause that's really what I think the issue is... But I'm new so feel free to suggest other mistakes).

Can you please post a screenshot? Is it no visible at all, or transparent? Check tileset passability in database, maybe you had "star" on water tiles (but I'm not sure it is even possible)?

Hey,
isn't it funny, the error was that it was noted as a star.
The reason for this is that I had followed a messy tutorial (I learnt to use the software basically overnight), and that I set a bunch of things different signs.
I'm posting the screenshots anyway in case someone has a similar issue and needs to look at this post.

If you'd like to help me understand my mistake even more, could you please explain to me what the star, circle and X is for??

Thank you so much! :kaoluv:

Hey, of course! X is for non passable tiles (block your way), O is for passable (you can step on them) and "star" tiles are like "above player" for events, so they are in front of other graphics. It's used for tall roofs, or trees, where you can go behind them. By that, you should have X on your water tileset to being impassable for player, but boat/ships can still go through them (vehicles have other mechanics: boat can go on shallow water, ship can go on shallow and deep one, air baloon can fly over impassable tiles). Glad you solved your problem.

the star is used for thing like treetops, street light posts, counter tops.
things you can walk behind and want the character to be hidden/obscured while behind them.
