So in an effort to play more rpg maker games rather than just focus on my own stuff I finished up playing this recently so I'd thought I'd share my thoughts.
First of all this was a pretty fun game wasn't sure what to expect at first but it ended up being fun to play and was much longer than I expected. I should mention I played on hard mode though so maybe that contributed to it somewhat.
Okay more specific aspects-
Pros:
-Loved the relics, they act as both collectibles and as a way to enhance your characters (which is the best way to do collectibles in my opinion). They also fit in really well with the setting of the game (I found them all

). The scarabs were a nice touch as well.
-Writing was good, the characters all have their own personalities and somehow masud being silent adds to the mysteriousness of his character. I'm pretty sure there is an implication about who masud is in the story which added a nice depth that I initially didn't expect.
-Music and sound effects sound great and fit in really well with the game. Artwork for the main characters looks great as well, heck even the windowskin looks great and fits in well with the game.
-Battles had a nice mix of strategy once you find more relics to give your characters enough skills to use in battle to add variety (early on it is a bit boring though). I can appreciate the cooldown and limited use skills which make you think of when is the best time to use particular skills.
Negatives:
-The mapping was nice especially in the town but the town left a lot to be desired otherwise; seemingly acting mostly as a place to move along the story between major events. Most of the npc's in town have a pointless purpose other than meaningless one-liners (which works in larger rpgs due to visiting other towns and such); it would have been nice to at least see these characters dialogue change as the story developed. The other places in town seem kind of insignificant to; you can view your relics displayed which I guess is nice or you can re-fight enemies. I didn't really see the point in re-fighting enemies though, I'm assuming for extra exp? It didn't seem like it was necessary as you get enough exp from the enemies you already fight. A library or something might have been a nice touch where you could read about the lore of the relics or about the pyramid.
-Went back to explore in the northern sands where you fight the snake boss, if you try to backtrack you get a message from masika that you should go back to town and let Rashida rest. This happens even after you've gone back to town and moved on from that part of the story.
